TazUK
I have the concept 650 fitted on my car and if I unlock the car using the fob, then wait around for a while before actually turning the ignition on, it doesn't start... in fact nothing happens whatsoever. So I guess that's the immobiliser kicking in. At the moment I'm resorting to arming/disarming the car again and then starting it, but it is annoying and has lead to the alarm going off a few times 'by mistake' with me looking like a tool! Anyone have any bright ideas that won't make me look like a retard everytime I take too long to start the car?
stevie_b
Usually with alarms, you have a minute or two to start the engine after unlocking the car. If you don't you can usually press the unlock button again to disable the immobiliser. You then have another one or two minutes......
Guest chiefvinso
I agree with stevie b although mine was a sigma but I would have thought they work the same in principal. I would put the key in the ignition and turn on the ignition and then press the fob (my fob had one buttone only, arming and disarming).
Bobbystone
if you unlock the car it will give you an estimated 25seconds to actually ingage ignition. i have the same alarm so when im not going to start the car i unlock the put ignition on and dont start it and its fine, then when ready you can turn the key. other option is unlock car then if your not gonna start it put straight into valet mode by holdin both buttons on the left hand side of fob thn start when ready. Gaz Walker
Turn the ignition key to the on position (the one after the stereo works), press arm/dis-arm once - hey presto - immobiliser off. Turn the key to start... Gaz.
