The Raven
Mrs got one today as a hire car. Ok it drives nice, and is a good size. However..............47mpg? Her diesel did more than that! constant steaming of the windows, confusing heads up display and dont even try and make it go fast, it will raw and not go anywhere. The only joy you can get from it is the the never ending fight to make it use the tric engine rather than the petrol one. If hers ends up getting written off i will get another diesel.... tbourner
Is that the latest one? I drove one and thought it was pretty cool, think I averaged 70 odd MPG on a mix of driving.
imi
The notion of carrying 200KG worth of batteries at all times is false economy. I would have been more forgiving had the car been remotely appealing to look at.
The Raven
Older model. The new one might be better, this one is crap i can only guess its aimed at americans where they consider 35mpg to be a selling point.
Gaz6002
If you like that CVT gearbox there's something wrong with you
KamaSupra
I've never been too keen on the old ones looks and I haven't driven either the old or new version. But the new one looks pretty cool and looks fast, probably looks faster than it goes though
The Raven
If you like that CVT gearbox there's something wrong with you It does not bother me, but that might be because im watching the stupid heads up thing trying to work out what the little green cars mean! When i grow bored of that i turn it onto the engine one and try and force it to turn of its petrol engine.

Once the novelty wears off you'll soon get bored - I've done thousands of miles on Toyota hybrids now and CVT 'boxes are the bane of my life
marbleapple
I drove one. It had the power of a goldfish and didn't look half as pretty. I don't understand how electric is environment friendly. The electic comes from somewhere, like the nuclear powerplant in Japan.
Chris Wilson
Priced up a set of replacement batteries? Or how the old ones have to be disposed of?
Tyson
If you like that CVT gearbox there's something wrong with you I drove a Honda insight as my mate is a honda salesman and I can tell you regardless of manufacturer CVT gearboxes are without a doubt the most horrific thing ever made !!! And I've drove a City rover !!!
Nicolai
Hes talking about the OLD model. The new one is in my visioin very good. But dont buy it with the intention to race it... Doh.
Lbm
A Prius snuck up behind me in a car park just before Xmas. It was deadly silent and the rumble of the tyre was the only thing that gave it away. I literally jumped out of my skin as the retired gentleman owner wafted past in it at around 5mph. Hateful things.
The Restorer
Complete false economy. I wish I could buy them all and give them to the army to use for training... http://desmond.yfrog.com/Himg610/scaled.php?tn=0&server=610&filename=8hpjt.jpg&xsize=640&ysize=

caseys
If you like that CVT gearbox there's something wrong with you There is no statement in the entire world I would agree more with. I drive one to the Eden project, yes got over 70mpg but it was the most mind numbing, soul destroying drive I have ever done (this includes having a Ford Ka hire car once). I'd rather walk everywhere for the rest of my life than drive one again.

Guigsy
When I have lots of time and money (never) I'm going to make one into a drag sleeper. 2jz in the back. Huge turbo. But keep the dash etc. Pop some wheelies and be as uneconomical as possible
