SupraP-Z
Quick question guys, how do HID ballasts/bulbs cope with voltage drop? Would it harm the ballast in any way, or blow the bulbs? Im not sure exactly how they operate to be perfectly honest...lets say voltage dropped to 11.5 or under...would they just switch off? do they need a constant 12v supply? Tricky-Ricky
Pretty sure that if the voltage is too low, they just wont switch on, as the big power requirement is on startup.
SupraP-Z
I know they require the full voltage while firing up, that shouldnt be a problem....just while on the move, after they are already on, would it cause damage to them if the voltage dropped? Tricky-Ricky
I doubt it as the current draw is not as much as with std bulbs.
