Bossco
I went out this morning to give my engine bay some polishing love with the car being off the road for a while and the bonnet was stuck shut. Obviously my 1st thought to set it on fire and dance round the car naked. [sHOCK][/sHOCK] I've done a search and read posts going back to 2006 where this has been a problem but I cant find a solution. Can it be released from underneath the car ? My bumper is not fixed to the car so that can come off easy enough. I've had my hand up as far as I can, without the car being jacked up but I cant open it. Can it be done lads? Tell me it can? Edit: I've also followed the cable from the inside as far as I can and the cable is tight so I think it's snapped. Nic
Is it the central catch that's not releasing when you pull the lever? If so get someone to pull the lever and at the same time try lifting the bonnet.
Bossco
I think it is the central catch but the lever in the car seems to have no effect whatsoever. I'll give it a try later.
Dnk
Try pressing down on the bonnet to take the tension of the catches then get someone to pull the release handle, obviously if the cables snapped then it wont work but mine sometimes sticks and thats what i do. Good luck
w41k3r
just check under the dash on the puller that the lead that goes to the catch is attached still mine came off once and it took me a while to figure out what had happened
