Neil-NA
Right i have had an ongoing problem with my car for a year and a half now, almost every time i took her out if cruising along the red triangle warning light would come on along with the orange engine warning light, sometimes they would go back out most of the time they would stay on. I always thought it was a delimiter problem (but car is still in KPH), if the lights were ON i could go over 112 mph, if they were OFF the limiter would kick in. I have recently fitted a Mines ecu that has the limiter removed at first the warning lights would be on when i started the car for a few seconds and then maybe flash up a couple of times whilst driving but now the car has both warning lights on all the time, i have checked the error codes and came back as 42 which i believe is the speed sensor signal. This morning i decided to try and find the limiter behind the dash but could not see anything at all, is there any other places i can try (already done near the ecu) The car still runs perfectly with the warning lights on. Link to origional thread - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?239668-Remove-top-speed-DE-limiter In the paperwork i have with the car i have a reciept for a sensor related to the speed signal (maybe on the gearbox) but cant remeber as my paperwork is at my dads. Any ideas what to check or do? Thanks.
bobapple
Does it ever come on when you get to around 60 mph, mine used to come on when I got to around this speed it turned out the odo wasnt sending out a signal so the guys at Thor re-wired it some how and sorted it. Worth a go heres what they wrote on my invoice. This then enabled us to read fault code 42 - Speed Sensor, we next removed dash to get to speedo converter. Tested and confirmed working OK. Diagnosed issue with output stage of odometer and re-wired which removed fault 42. Hope this helps. Swampy442
Have you checked the speed sensor(s) and plugs? Theyre only made out of plastic so its possible they can break, maybe theres some crap in the plugs?
