ScottPawsey
I've got a 94 SZ auto, and over the last few weeks its taken a while to start in the mornings, once it starts and i drive it there are a few flat spots when I accelerate and also its not running smooth when on idle (the revs dip now and then). Sometimes the problem is not there (when ever i take it to get looked at). But now after all this snow it wont start at all, its turning over but not firing up. A garage I did go too said it might be the fuel pump or relay. Please Please help if you can. Cheers Scott

ChrisR
Scott, DO you use the car every day or does it stand for periods of time. Just wondered if its not being used enough to maintain charge.
ScottPawsey
I do work a shift so it will stand for a max two days but I was trying the car loads before the battery went flat yesterday so i dont think it is that. But i could be wrong
Guest Martin F
It could really be a number of things. You need to check and see if any error codes have been logged by the ECU. A possibility is a cam or crank sensor among many other things. To read the ECU fault codes check out http://www.mkiv.com
Supra Pilot
Thats more than likely an electrical problem you got, as Martin said check for fault codes. No crank sensor as it's an N/A. Check basics if you like first, s/plugs, leads, distributor cover etc. A long shot here, but try resetting the ECU.....
ScottPawsey
Hmmmm i was thinking it might be a faultly leads as i've heard you have to change them at thirty thousand, I think mine are original as the plugs may still be i'm sure they weren't change in the service when i brought the car (to much hassle)
Supra Pilot
There you go, try that..see if you can get a spare lead(long) so you probably try swapping to see if any one in particular is faulty. Plugs are a bit of a bastard to check on the N/A as a routine. But the other items can be checked easily enough first! When you get the car sorted, can you report back to us lads m8, so we can have a reference to go by in case someone else has same or similar problems.....(just that some ask for help and don't report back after) Cheers Dom
ScottPawsey
I will do Dom cheers for that. I'm going to have a look on monday thats my next day off but i will get back to you all. If anyone has any other suggestions?
ScottPawsey
As promised I'm telling you what was wrong with the car. I went out monday to try it (seeing as it is warmer weather now) and it started still a bit lumpy but running. I've cleaned the leads and sprayed with wd40 but still need to take the distributer cap off and check that, but i cant get it off, I loosened all three bolts but it wouldn't move any ideas?
