Guest Luca Brazzi
Hello everyone, first post on here. I'm the owner of sleepy-fish.com where you saw the Green Sagaris in pictures and video (which I helped to produce). The colour is called 'Racing Green' Green and was created for Racing Green TVR, based in Hampshire, UK. If you are seriously interested in the colour, you should contact their MD at [email protected]. You should note that the paint used on the Sagaris is a water based paint, and apparently very difficult to apply well. As for the colour itself, it really glistens in the sun, and not quite captured in any of the photos. There's a slight golden glow underneath the green, which is very striking. If you saw it at Castle Combe at the weekend, on the Sunday, it will have been parked next to my Tuscan , otherwise at the main Paddock gate on the Saturday. Hope this helps, and please ask if there is anything you want to know. LB http://www.sleepy-fish.com
Muffleman
Didn't expect that ! Thanks for your post mate, it is appreciated. Would Colin really want to give away paint codes etc ? I'm deadly serious and the bodyshop doing the paint are starting to prep the car on Monday, so they're currently trying like mad to get info. on the colour. Honestly didn't think I could contact Racing Green about the colour they have on their Sagaris because I want it on my old MR2 Cheers Matt

Guest Luca Brazzi
Just write to Colin and ask him about it, telling him your story. I'm sure you can strike a deal, but do ask him about the significance of it being water based paint. And do mention that you found him through the chap who runs sleepy-fish.com. Let us know how you get on. LB:)

Muffleman
Yup, I've just got back from the bodyshop. I took a couple of pics, although as ever - they just don't do it justice ! I'm chuffed to bits and it's gonna look awesome, should be ready for next weekend. Just got to go feed the baby, and then I'll upload pics later
Muffleman
Right, I originally decided to opt for another black when respraying the '2, but then someone on here (I won't mention Attilauk by name ) posted a pic of an awesome TVR Sagaris in a one-off green. I then tried to find the colour, we used paint reps, the MD of Racing Green TVR, a friend of a friend who owns a TVR dealership etc. Turns out it was a one-off based on Jaguar Racing green...we think. So we decided to try and match it. Problem with this is that my '2 is not a showcar and I will use it, so I had to think about what will happen if it gets dinged\scratched etc. Then the bodyshop guy suggested a colour - Vauxhall Tropical Green. It's difficult to choose from a 1" square colour tester, but I decided to go for it. It's a bit brighter than the TVR but has a gold pearl in it aswell. I also opted not to bother with a bodykit, I like the lines of the MR2 and the update to later lights\spoiler, 17" wheels and functional air scoop are enough for me. So, how's it looking ? http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~mshosier/MSHPerf/Jake%20203.jpg http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~mshosier/MSHPerf/Jake%20205.jpg http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~mshosier/MSHPerf/Jake%20207.jpg http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~mshosier/MSHPerf/Jake%20210.jpg http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~mshosier/MSHPerf/Jake%20211.jpg Comments welcome
JamesG
The thought of spraying a lovely black MR2 Turbo in green is enough to make me hurl....but actually it looks fantastic! Really nice colour. But what Vauxhalls were ever painted in that colour? I've never seen one.
Muffleman
The thought of spraying a lovely black MR2 Turbo in green is enough to make me hurl....but actually it looks fantastic! Really nice colour I REALLY couldn't decide whether I should go for it or not because I really liked the look of my '2 in black, but I'm glad I did. I can't wait to see it when it's been flattened and polished. But what Vauxhalls were ever painted in that colour? I've never seen one. Took me a while to find out, but it was, er, um, a Tigra Just don't tell anyone

Muffleman
Hi all, Well I finally picked the car up all finished, and I am well chuffed ! I've taken a couple of quick pics but will polish her up at the weekend and take some proper pics, all artsy fartsy like I know it's not gonna be to everyones taste, but I'm really pleased. http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/2682/respray001small8vi.jpg http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/4959/respray004small8sb.jpg I've still got some details to fix like clear side repeaters etc, but we'll get there. I still miss my supra BADLY and I will have another asap, but this keeps me amused for now Better pics to come. I also had the dash panels done, so I'll do an interior shot aswell. Cheers Matt
