CJ
I have been offered the following: Intel q6600 2.4 quad core processor Asus p5q pro mother board 8gb XMS3 ram I can buy this for 200.00 and my questions are: 1. Is this good value? 2. Would I be better off waiting for 6 months or so and then upgrading my current spec to more modern bits? I currently have this spec and whilst it isnt slow, I just thought that if the upgrade was good value then it would keep me happy for a long while. Thoughts? CJ
I was hoping the usual (informed) suspects might have a view
imi
If you use your computer like me for everything other than gaming and regular video photo editing then adding another 2gb to your existing setup would be sufficient to keep it ticking over for a few more years. Changing the MB will mean setting it up again and that alone would be put me off. Imi
CJ
Thanks for the reply Imi. I had already bought another 2gb of RAM but it got lost in the Xmas post coming over from the UK Methinks you are right - and so my search will now be on for some inexpensive RAM.
