black_widow87
Took my car for an emmissions test only to find out its kicking out double what it should. I had the second cat put back in and run for about 30miles thinking it would help, obviously not! What does this mean? Any suggestions on what i can do as iv got my MOT at end of the month. Cheers guys

It is expensive, but you might find your fuel economy improves significantly if the O2 sensor is shot. In fact, it might pay for itself over a few thousand miles. How about trying to clean it? Yes they're expensive, but with the price of fuel as it is, a new one will pay for itself in fuel saving quite quickly.
Nic
How much for a new O2 sensor dude? Is it a simple job or am i gonna have to fork out alot of ££££'s? Is yours NA or TT? They are easy to fit either way, if you have a J-spec TT there is just one oxygen sensor, if you have an NA there are 2 oxygen sensors. black_widow87
Its a TT/Single, where abouts is it located? Think i might try give it a clean first to see if it makes any difference, if emissions are still sky high am i right in saying its the CAT that is knackered? pezzler
I replaced my o2 sensor last week, £132 from Steve Manley at Inchape Toyota in Kidlington. It must just be me, but I found £130 inc VAT quite reasonable for a brand new genuine sensor - especially considering the car its for Would recommend replacing the o2 sensor, my car has been running so much sweeter since replacing it
