johnny g
Usually 6-7 hours in the week, then I get a good 8 hours on Fri night and Sat night. Sundays, I also have an afternoon snooze. Sometimes in work, if I'm shattered, I'll nip to the gents, into a cubicle and have a 15 min power nap.
Lbm
What screaming? Iris sleeps from 9pm till 9-10am every single night/morning. We have been up with her 2 nights in total since her birth, and even at that we still managed 4-5 hours sleep I don't know what some people moan about, it's a doddle Yep...I meant crying not screaming Still it sounds like you've been lucky with your daughter...so far Stop hijacking my sleep thread with your mushy baby beating talk. Oops, I promised myself never to reveal my inner infanta psychotic tender (tendancies?) side. I'm off to build a Fritzolian Dungeon - A nice surprise for the wee one and cheaper than Centre Parks too. But speaking of sleeping, I'm convinced that for the last 15, no probably 20 years, I've simply been living on New York Time. Now everything makes sense with my new frame of reference. And I sleep a little easier. I've never been there, (and inexplicably I cook my eggs over easy) but I'm sure the bagels are in fact excellent. You crack me up - I've missed your more indepth posts. I think you might be right about the whole New York thing. I think I myself might be on San Fran time. I like trams if that's anything to go by. That sounds to me like what Michael Hutchence was doing when they found him.
mwilkinson
I work 12 hour shifts. Between shifts I get about 4.5 hours, but at least once in a set of shifts due to overtime or aid at work I will get about 2-3 hours.
supramkivcork
About 6 hours a night. Up for 5am for work, normally get an hours nap in the afternoons. Will be taking one soon hopefully if little drummer boy behind my house stops eventually. There was a time maybe 3-4 years ago I used to sleep 4 hours a night if I was lucky . Would find it very hard to function properly on that amount of sleep now.
Pete
I find if I'm up later with less sleep then I will have a deeper sleep and feel more refreshed. Generally if I have much less than 8 hours I'll get pretty grumpy. It depends on the season too, I need less sleep in the summer as the natural light helps tremendously. Ideally my natural pattern seems to be wake up at around 10am, nap around 15:30 for 30 mins, go to bed around 01:00.
Havard
I get around 7 hours generally. Usually midnight till 7 am. Both our kids are growing up now but in the first three years I have had some terrible nights and the following day I have felt like ripping someones head off..!! H. If your toilet has a cistern simply sit down facing it, fold your arms on top and rest your head. Trying to get up after 15 mins can be difficult though, heard MANY a snorer in my day
Graham S
I hate my bed! I take hours to get to sleep every night, where-as the Mrs falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow, then within about 10-15 miutes the snoring starts, then I get pissed off, so that wakes me up even more. So, I probably get around 4 hours sleep max. About now i'm wide awake, my alarm is set for 7 and when I get up I feel worse than when I went to bed. Wish I knew why as I'd love to be in bed by say 10.30, get a good nights sleep and actually wake up fresh! But on the VERY rare occasion where I get say 6 hours I wake up with a banging headache thats there all day long.

RobSheffield
Since working on the cruise ships, where i worked for 4 hours a day every day from 7pm - 11pm, with constant never ending shift pattern parties, my sleep patterns are all over the place. When i got home in November i focussed on breaking my car and selling the parts so i am only just about to get back into full time work. I start on Monday and i think its going to kill me not being able to have a nap for a few hours in the afternoon This is me tonight having an early night, but i cant see it happening. At least after a 2 week 9-6 training course i will be doing 11-8 days for the rest of my working life. Bit of a lay in and miss the traffic
