Opionins on MKIV Perspex bonnets?

I think I read somewhere that heat was a massive problem when they were filming 2 fast 2 furious. Don't suppose it being summer time in Miami helped but I'm guessing the heat will ruin it. Will look a bit $h!t too lol.

I must admit I'd have 1 in a snap if there wasn't heat issues.

it would save me lofting the bloody bonnet at shows all the time.

Doesn't the Corvette ZR1 have a "window" in the bonnet so you can see the engine? Could find out what that's made from :)

Afaik, yes!

No its not, there is nothing says you need a bonnet for an MOT, as far as traffic law goes you would need to cover any rotating parts like supercharger pulleys etc, thats why you see hot rods driving with no bonnets, just because a car passes an MOT does not mean it is legal, it is not a test to determine legality of a car its to determine road worthiness, for example a corroded sharp front edge on a bonnet will fail, likewise through accident damage but if you weld spikes on it thats fine because its not as a result of damage/rust, you don't need wipers or washers......................................if you have no screen and you don't need lights.............................................if you only want a daytime MOT. If you need to know the legalities of modifications you need to check the Construction and use regulations.

Right how's this for a twist. There's now heat sensitive paint which goes see through when hot. So see through bonnet painted with this stuff. Parked no one knows what you got. at shows jut turn it on and wait for the reaction

Go for a decent drive, get to the pub, go for a pint, come back to find your perspex bonnet in bits and your expensive shiny show-off parts nicked. Easy money!
