Scott
I got my gasket set today and noticed that I have been given 3 cam cover seals. Looking at them I think that the other one is for the VVTi. I also have 2 seals that look as if they are the shape of the spark plug cover, again one being for the VVTi. Is that the norm? How can I tell which one is which? The only difference I see is that 1 is shorter, I take it both of the non-VVTi ones are the same size? Spark cover one is obvious though
leelbuk
That's exactly what I assumed. The spark plug cover seal is the one that fits to the top of the front timing belt cover and is very obvious which one is which, but as for the cam cover seal, I think you could tell by looking at the curved part of the seal (the part that goes over the no 1 bearing cap on the intake side) as I'm sure it was just slightly larger. It's a snug fit though so I'm pretty sure you'll know if you try and insert the wrong seal into the intake cam cover
Scott
Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. Trouble is I'm not fitting them just now, everything is being pulled together for wintertime (single time) so I was thinking more long the lines of seperating the VVTi one to offer it on here Think I'll just leave it in the box and seperate it when the time comes. Not really worth the hassle
