It has the green and blue light then yellow light comes then it flashes red after that. I seen on youtube that you can fix it but is there a permanent fix for this. Swampy442
Yes, its called the Xbox 360 How old is it? Maybe you could try Sony for a warrantee claim?
caseys
No perm fix but you can get it fixed for free... Search for YLOD on here, or read through this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?202264-PS3-repairs&highlight=YLOD

add heywood
Its the solder on the GPU that gets hot and cracks, I paid £80 to get mine fixed from a place called protech near me. They take the GPU completely off and then solder 500 lead solder joints to the back of it and then solde back onto the board. Be carefull if you take it anywhere that they are not just charging you to blast it with a heat gun to 10 mins...

Thorin
Nothing is permanent, everything will fail again eventually, even if you bought a new machine.

Graham S
Mine is 3-4 months out of warranty, Phoned them up Thursday as my hard drive corrupted and I couldn't fix it, they sent me a new one out yesterday! Problem is the new one died first time I turned it on! Turned on, beeped 3 times then the green light, flashed yellow then turned off and the light then flashed red! Getting another one Monday. I think if you ring sony they are actually quite good to deal with, I heard they will exhange your broken one for a recon for something around £100. Gotta be better than buying a new one at £270+
Guest TTSUPRA
Ture you got a point but the recon ps3 might not last long
