mawby
Whilst spending a few minutes sat in front of my car admiring the new sprinkler system I got to thinking about FMIC's which then lead onto how it would be nice if when moving from a side to front mount inter cooler you could also move the air con radiator from the front to the side - effectively swapping them around. It would be good to reuse the space made available when the SMIC is gone, and it must aid cooling the main radiator not having the air con radiator in between it and the FMIC. I just wondered if anyone had ever done it or whether there's a "yeah but" that I hadn't thought of?
dude
Pretty simple in theory, I wonder if its been done in the states as there are countless AC shops out there, the lines etc would be simple enough to get made up.
Swampy442
The a/c rad has alot of surface area so you would have to make a cooler with equivalent surface area and fit a fan to draw air through it, all in the space the side mount occupied. Would be tricky...
Lude
yea the air con rad is quite large. youd have to get a different smaller one to do what your thinking. i just removed the whole air con rad & pump & all the lines etc
mawby
It is large but I can't help but think that is mainly due to where it is and the fact it's an old design. I also like my air con too much to get rid of it.
