I watched the game (not through choice but because the bar had punters in) and agree that the Carragher tackle was a sending off offence. However, I am of the opinion that decisions like that usually even themselves out over the season and that Manchester United will have benefited from those going for them in the past (or probably the future).

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the attitude of Ferguson to decline an interview after the match. Frankly this shows a complete lack of respect to the media at large and is yet another example of this fella's contempt for any authority whatsoever.

A great manager? No doubt. A great man? Never.

I think you will find that he had already told everyone before the game that he wouldnt be giving a press interview due to his speaking his mind after the Chelski game and dropping himself in doodoo. I thinks is quite funny that all the media are able to slate a ref when he has had a shocker but a manager cant.

I don't why you need 2000 words to explain yourself. I said Carra could and should have seen red. You've failed to enlighten me there.

The intent was there just the same and probably worse in the Rafael tackle with a two footed lunge at Lucas. The fact he didn't catch him means nothing . The intent was there to injure the guy. Those grapes must be desperately sour at this stage.

I know he did but usually Phelan then speaks on his behalf. And anyway, regardless of him speaking his mind and getting it reported, (which, BTW is easily stopped if he put his brain into gear before opening his mouth), he / the club still has an obligation to hold the press conference after the game.

And Maxi trying to kick Rafael just a second or two previous would have had nothing to do with it? Ref should have stopped play for that one as well, even Souness ( your best manager imo) said that was another shocking tackle.

No sour grapes here, we didnt and havent played well enough away from home, think i have mentioned it previously but you read into my replies what you will.

Maxi did go for Rafael yes. Didn't warrant the petulant behaviour from the united boy. It's a physical game and I would have had no qualms if Maxi received a yellow. Due to the fact things weren't going utd's way he lashed simple as that.

as for Souness ? that must be tongue in cheek as otherwise .... well I don't think I need to say it.

Petulant behavior? He got kicked which caused him to lose control of the ball, he then, probably with a bit of red mist, went to get it back, along the deck mind you. If the ref had blown for a foul, like you say he should of, Rafael would not have put the tackle in. Carragher on the other hand was just below the knee, no red mist, no loose ball, just a sickening hack at another player, like our Toffee fan says it just shows the class of the man.

Your fans all went on 606 laughing and joking about Nani and how he cried, maybe if it was done to them it wouldnt be so funny. When Alan Smith had his leg broken at Anfield your fans surrounded the ambulance, rocked it to hell and wouldnt let it leave to go to hospital. I think we see a pattern forming here.

Rafael went in to the challenge with a clear intention to hurt. Two feet off the ground deserves a red just as Gerrard got at Old Trafford. The penalty awarded in the same game against Agger was another example of United getting a ridiculous decision when it was a clear dive.

As for the fans : what do the Liverpool fans have to with your argument that United get favorable treatment from the officials ?

You might want to hold onto those straws a little better as it looks like a loose grasp at the moment.

Have a look at the youtube vid for some of Rooney's best :)

You must be having a moment, lets run through your "wisdom" shall we?

Rafael would not have made that tackle if the ref had awarded what we could all see was a yellow card offence made by Maxi.

Alan Green, Mark Lawerson both thought it was a penalty. The Liverpool fans i know from around here said it was a stupid tackle made by Agger, their way of saying it was a penalty.

All of the above also said Gerrard had to go and lets be honest it not the first time he has done this sort of thing.

I was pointing out that we have had peoples legs badly damaged before at Anfield and yet the players has got anyway with it, is that things going for United? As for the fans reactions i guess it has little to do with this debate but i was so angry with it that it fell in.

I dont need to clutch at straws thank you very much, your lack of facts proves this.

I am glad you have brought in youtube, how do you like these eggs?

But of course, its only united players that dive.

Have a chat with yourself.

I'm still LOL'ing at LFC's overreaction to a giant killing.

The reaction is a combination of factors for supporters, obviously the win and the manner of it. The resurgence of the club under Dalglish the blossoming of Suarez the increasing awareness that £50 million was a mighty shrewd deal for Torres.

The feeling amongst the fans is that the club is moving in the right direction ; to have it signposted by a hapless Manchester United team makes the journey towards the destination that much sweeter.
