shaz2010
rear driverside Lower suspension arm, it says on the workshop book to "place matchmarks on the adjusting cam and sub frame" "remove the nut ,adjusting cam and disconnect the lower suspension arm no1." as ive crashed my car and this bar was bent i havnt got "matchmarks" !! so what does this mean ? my wheel is slightly sitting in av also replaced the strut rod. could not of putting matchmarks on as it says could this make my wheel sit in? or does the rear hub need changing. J_Supra_07
To be honest mate I wouldt worry about the alinemant as it bumped the markings will prob be out anyway. Fit the replacemant as best you can and take the car to get the wheels alined
shaz2010
ok i was gonna replace the hub but ill show some pics of what it looks like and like a sed ive replaced the two parts strut rod and lower suspension arm. do u think this it to much out to be just to be wheel alined? or shud a replace the hub as it is probs bent? (the car is jacked up so its not really a true shot but you can see from the first pic its just out)

shaz2010
subframe looks stright mate , but as it was the bottom of the alloy that hit the kerb it looks like nothing else bent as the wishbone ,shocker, drop links ect look fine the only 2 that bent was them 2 , heres a pic of what i think is fu*+ked > ive put circles round where the rods attach to ,if they were to be off, would that cause the wheel to sit wrong? anyone ? thanks

Dnk
Glad to hear it and yes the parts you've circled if bent will screw up either the camber or the toe or both You'll still need to get the camber and toe set though Edited March 5, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)
fastcar
I hit my rear wheel on against a Kerb I while back and had to reaplace the lower suspension the upper wishbone and the hub. My wheel was on about the same angle as yours. Try replacing just one thing at a time and see if comes back into line.

I mate I've checked the upper wishbone looks like it hasn't been hit but av replaced the rest just hope wen a get the hub on it sorts it out . Havnt drove her for 3 weeks now and a miss it like mad. Dnk
You will need to get the wheel re aligned, you've replaced the bottom arm which is where the camber is adjusted and the toe control arm.
fastcar
Yeah I just bolted it all up got the wheel as straight as I could then went and got all four wheels aligned. The subframe is fairly strong on the supra would take alot to knock it at of shape.

Dnk
15 mph impact with 1500 kgs behind it is a big enough hit
fastcar
Yeah it is a heavy car I was doing about 30 then hit the pedel when back end came out. Hit the Kerb so that I snaped the stabiliser in two but the subframe was fine. But then u can give just a slight knock the bend the subframe depends on how you hit I guess
shaz2010
True i wasnt driving it was my brother hope what he says is rite if so it hopefully hasnt twisted the sub frame.. i was taking everything that needs to be removed for the hub to be replaced today and took a quick photo to show how the knuckle not stright with the strut rod . pics shows the strut rod bolted to the chassie and sitting firm where it should be and the knuckle not in line! i can get it on the knuckle but ive got to use a bar to get it flush with it to get the bolt in.
