sparkystav
Lo, was gonna say as mine has launch and it's all in the one box Could swap boxes? however im sure ive heard you can add launch to a none lauch with a bit of wiring?
jevansio
Could swap boxes? however im sure ive heard you can add launch to a none lauch with a bit of wiring? But the guy would have originally said "wanna swap", not "wanna split". Not sure on that, I would have thought that the very minimum between a rltc + lc & rltc - lc would be a physical switch, and any internal upgrade would be purely a software/firmware upgrade in the unit

Other than the settings in the software thats it. When i get it off the car at the weekend i will get some pics. Steve
Guigsy
how does the launch control work on these? any good for a bpu auto at the strip?
Branners
how does the launch control work on these? any good for a bpu auto at the strip? In a word, NO. The launch control relies on the clutch switch to work. With an auto it never knows when to stop doing the launch and just doesnt work. The idea is that you turn on launch control, floor the accelerator and keep the clutch down, then either slam the clatch up and let the drivetrain take the abuse or slip the clutch just the right amount to get a proper launch. Seen it in action and not sure of the benefits, but with practice I'm sure it would help.
barneybrendan
so what does the launch control actualy do then.
Suprash
Minimise wheel spin, thats the main function of RLTC
Branners
so what does the launch control actualy do then. Holds the revs at a pre-set level, eg 4000rpm and you keep your foot jammed on the floor. Then when you launch it is set for the best slip level to cope with the launch. You want something like 10% slip for the best launch or something. barneybrendan
mmmm would be good for the supercharger set up then
Branners
I think combined with a decent clutch it could be outstanding, but a few full throttle launches with it turned on would take out an aged stock clutch pretty quickly. I'm still a massive fan of RLTC and was going to buy this one a while back but forgot all about it!!
