j_jza80
Thanks! It does have 'Metro' on it as well, just needed a wipe to see it. Looks to be about 220mm, but I'm having trouble unscrewing the blue nut, might have to take the ball out to make room. The measurement is in imperial, to the nearest 1/2" IIRC. Just stop the water supply to the cistern, empty it then spray around the nut with WD40. Leave it for a while, then try it (try using the syphon chamber as leverage, as you'll get more 'purchase')

It's like something from 'Carry On at Your Convenience' - I'm just waiting for Kenneth Williams to pop up and say 'OOOOOOH'

tbourner
Just stop the water supply to the cistern, empty it then spray around the nut with WD40. I though WD40 was bad for plastics? Or is that rubber?
Charlotte
I'm really glad this is being bumped at lunchtime. Nothing like a good toilet thread to help wash down the sandwiches.

dude
Contact Raven, he has a thread saying he has fitted a Log Burner, that means you don't need a toilet.
TubbyTwo
After 3 days, I expect it will go somthing like the quote in dude's sig: Sit down, shut up,hold on Then fetch the loo role from the fridge
tbourner
Got a new valve flap instead of the whole unit as PlumbCentre didn't have the same type. It now flushes but I had to take the ballcock assembly out to get the syphon unit in and out. Now I've got a leak on the inlet to the cistern. D'OH. Hopefully if I get a rubber washer it'll stop it? Or do I need sealing compound and stuff as well? It's a plastic hexagon nut that you hand tighten and I've got it as tight as I can.
stevie_b
Maybe wrapping the bolt's thread with PTFE tape would help if it's leaking because the nut isn't tight enough.
snake
Nip it up with a pair of grips to see if that works first.
