ADD
Morning all, just wondered has anyone been to NYC over new years period? If so is it all that it's made out to be? Looks like I'm off there end of 2011 and wanted to know if I was getting a good deal! Cheer ADD
Ric
New York over Christmas and new year is meant to be amazing, I haven't been myself at this time, but a few friends have and all rave about it.

Bobbeh
Yeah done it a few times, and tbh its a great time of year to go, the flights arnt too expensive and the shops have good sales on. Time Square was a bit of a let down for me, compared with Londons fireworks. You're kinda ordered around like sheep and kept in pens, but overall its a great time of year to go, providing the flights arent cancelled
ADD
Thanks guys for you input, 4 days Inc hotel and flights is £850! Does that sound reasonable? Ad
Bobbeh
Depends where you're staying, I got rooms at a nice place for under £100 a night, and the flights £250-300.. so its ok I spose. At least if its a package trip you'll be protected etc with cancellations compared to if you booked it independantly. Things may have gone up too recently

clapyohandz
I spent 4 years in the us and I have been to nyc twice for Christmas / New Year. Definitely something to check out. Christmas shopping is fun too, as long as you have some loot.
supramkivcork
Did you look into renting an apartment mate, I was in NY 6 yrs in a row, last 2 years we booked apartments which were about half price of the hotels.

How many of ye are going ? Would definitely be worthwhile if there 3-4 booking an apartment I'd say.
