barneybrendan
I know this has been brought up a fiew times but all i seem to find on the search is one article about carbon wrapping a top secret bumper. Is there anybody on the site that actualy does this.If so i would like a quote for wrapping the whole car.My paintwork is crap and rather than a respray i am hoping that wrapping will be cheaper and ideal for the overall look im after.Basicly im copying the red ridox supra but just changing some of the names on the graphics.Would the actual graphics be on top or part of the main wrapp. What i want is the same as the pics
Shane
Try X wraps in Leighton Buzzard. Their work looks nice, they quoted me around £500 I think it was but said that was the starting price for a basic car with not much in the way of skirts. Very helpful guys and asnwered all my questions promptly. Saw a VXR they did at one of last years shows and it looked ok.
Rob_Mitchell
i would imagine the decals will be on top of the vinyl and not in it. the best look would be to have it repainted and the decals laquired in... easy to clean and just far better look but downside is its permanent. barneybrendan
I have to think about price aswell ,whats a respray now about £3000.TOO much money for me at the moment. If i can get it wrapped for around £1000 i would be more than happy. Dnk
I contempated having my car wrapped but there would need to be joins where the roof meets the quarter panels which really put me me off.

barneybrendan
i should get away with the join for the roof as i can get slightly different graphics to hide it,plus im leaving the rear arches rivited on.

The make or break really is with who does it, i've seen a few on differant cars and when i've got close they've all been pretty horrible to be honest. Josh
How prone to peeling is the vinyl wrap? It'd be a shame if you got such a big job done for £1000 then had to get it applied again due to peeling.
BazzaAlpine
Depends on the quality of the wrap. Some ppl have said it peels in under a year and others had no problems. The added benefit is if you get a load of stone chips you can replace the section on the panel at a fraction of the cost of getting that whole panel resprayed (or so I've heard). evinX
Vinyl wrap is a nice finish, but it looks more matt, i dont think you could ever get the shine like you do when you buff/polish normal paint...
JamieP
Supramatt does pretty good resprays for reasonable money from what ive seen.
barneybrendan
going to try and get some quotes this week as there a lot of companies when you google it.
ozz
There was a company referenced on the 350z forum, I'll try and find it. I think the cost was closer to 2k, but had a guarantee against peeling and looked very high quality. Edit, cost does seem around 1k, not bad if it last years. Not sure if you can access this: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=44945&hilit=wrap

barneybrendan
got some quotes yesterdy off totally dynamic. for a base colour then the graphics on top will be about £1500 +vat now for a metalic red, silver first the a red with the graphics printed in and finally a clear gloss is around £1800 +vat. I am going to go up and see them soon to see how thhis over lay works to give the metalic high gloss effect.
