J_Supra_07
This in what she looked like when I first picked her up in sept 2007. As you all know aerotops are N/A autos and i have plans to change it. Within less then 6 months and a visit to keron i came back with this 6 speed donner car. Work began on the aerotop While work was being done on the car I tock the opportunity to refurbish the wheels. while the TT engine was out ready to go in I had it serviced and new cam belt fitted. Good time to clean the lights up too. Everything got a nice clean before the engine went in. Engine in Fmic fitting Little bit of colour coding Cleaning up the diff Fitting prop & diff got full decat system Refurbished wheels back on tidying up wiring and piping
J_Supra_07
6 speed tt conversion completed Picture of the car down the bay After installing the sard ECU with out a boost controller this is the result After killing these I decided that's enough and started to strip the engine bay down again in prep for a single build. I wanted to tidy up the tunnel as it was nosey. (auto tunnel had to be cut out) Upgrading fuelling for the single Truck turbo Fitted New 4" down pipe and mid Wideband fitted Truck turbo single build Getting mapped at 2 Bar tunning with Ryans G6 standalone ECU Unfortunately the truck turbo was faulty and the cold side housing came lose on the rollers. turbo was damage but lucky nothing went into the inlet. So new turbo and manifold fitted (T88) Oil pressure gauge fitted
J_Supra_07
New twin plate clutch fitted engine pic new clocks Back at 2 Bar for remap Was mapped to 0.5 Bar made 420hp we stopped at that as one of my injectors is being lazy and not fuelling on idle so it was to risky to do a power run. I am going to sort the injector in the week and more wiring and just general tidying up to do. before I book it in for the final remap. then it will have a full respray as i have already ordered the paint. (Candy Apple Red). I will update as it progress's.

J_Supra_07
Few pic when I was fitting the clutch. TIP: anyone that buys this kit, the 6speed flywheel bolts don't fit the new flywheel. I had mine made as they are m10 fine thred and only need to be 25mm long not 45mm.
Guest wantthatone
cant wait to go out in this one!!
Chris Wilson
I think MR2 turbo flywheel bolts are shorter, but same pitch and thread, or Giken do them, at a price. Nice build, buying a complete donor car was a VERY good idea
J_Supra_07
I had no time at the point I was doing the clutch so paid big money to get some made there and then as it was going up to Ryan the next day. Chris I would like a new pump to go in my tank tho as iam sure I have a copy pump. I'll take a look at your sool pot next time I see you car. May be somthing I'll fit at a later date. jackso11
One question on the 6sp conversion, you don't seem to have a new transmission tunnel in there. How did you get it to fit?
J_Supra_07
Cut the auto tunnel out and have the manual tunnel welded in. I got a donor car witch helped but you can buy the tunnel from Toyota for around £50. Homer
Not sure if I am seeing this right, but it looks like the actual transmission tunnel has been cut out and the plate welded in along the edges, is that right? That's not how it's supposed to be done... It's a 2nd skin that goes *under* the transmission tunnel, the old auto plate can just needs it's spot welds drilling out. I imagine it's pretty noisy. J_Supra_07
Yeh they did trim both skins and weld it. And yes it is noisy I am going to put the sound deading back on that sould help. The twin plate is noisy so will look at doing that soon.
Homer
Ouch, hope you kicked whoever did that in the nuts What a bunch of monkeys It might be worth getting some heavy duty sound deadening to put on the outside of the trans tunel (i.e. where the box is). The stock tunnel has very heavy duty spray on sound deadening there, so must be done for a good reason (and there is no real trans noise from a stock manual car)
J_Supra_07
Trust me I was not happy about it. But as you stated i have already sprayed the underside. Iam going to mat the top. It's not as bad as I make it sound, but as you said, you should not hear it at all. I will improve it, sorting the injetor out 2day and tidying the electrics up. J_Supra_07
Thanks fella! Small update, did bit work on it again today. Inlet is off, got the injector out that was playing up. Had it checked, it is foulty and is not repairable. I will send it back as they are all new but I have also ordered a new one so that I can put it together faster. After a call to Paul whiffin I have a new injector and fuel pump on the way. Spent an hour or so tidying some wires up, as my elc fan relay played up on the trip upto surry, all nice soldered and tucked away now. :-) Going to look at the wideband tomorrow.
