Don't choose sky just had my renewal and its gone up by way too much will be cancelling it as they don't seem to be trying hard enough to get cheaper quotes. Try A-PLAN, Admiral (if you can get a multicar quote), Lynbrook (if you do less than 5000 miles and are older than 25).

Because they can and they do! Legally you need insurance to drive so why not hike the prices up and blame it on the compensation culture. Brokers like Sky need to make a profit and the higher the price they can get for an insurer on their books the more money they make. In an ideal world every year of fault free driving should be rewarded by cheaper renewal quotes but sadly this isn't the case.

Just be glad you aren't 17 and driving a 1L car worth £400 with no ncb. Did a test quote and the 3rd party F+T was £3300 fun times!

I went with Sky and got my TT6 with all mods declared for £650, i thought that wasnt too bad seeing as i'm 26 and only had 3 years no claims.

Good for you that was roughly what I paid last years and I'm 29 8 years ncb 3 points (Parking offense) JSPEC TT Manual in a secure car park! So either your paying too little or I got screwed by them last year too!

For me 350 -400 quid would be about right so I'm trying the classic car insurance route. Sky wanted £767 from me this year!

damn you with all your cheap insurance!! =/

I'm 24 with an MG ZS. Its £1400 for me to have my own and £898 for me to be a named drive =[

Luckily I make my own NCB with being a named driver. I guess it will go down when I'm 25... I hope.

Tried to look for insurance to get a supra. £1800-2500.

Not too good.

'im with the RAC £287 fully comp =protected n/c'

Unless you are really old like me or 200 miles away from anyone, which I understand is possible in Wales, you might want to check with the Rac that they actually have the right car ! When I bought mine I had a complete mission with the AA ( Automobile Association ? what a joke ) Put me down for a Mk3 first, then said they couldn't find the car then had a 5 day delay when I told them it had different wheels and an exhaust, they finally sorted it out, I had a few months left on my existing car and they didn't charge much extra, but when it came to renewal I got a letter saying they wouldn't insure me in it !

Insurance companies work out your premium based on a risk profile with several factors taken into consideration. You can't compare anyone's premium to your own. Prices have gone up significantly over the whole market this year, it isn't just you feeling the pinch.

Yes I know that, its unfair how a monopoly market isn't regulated enough. I could in theory be one of the 8~10% of drivers not insured and save money that way. I just can't see how they put up prices by a THIRD in a year and get away with it. Maybe they should invest some of their profits on helping to catch the unisured drivers, accident scammers and the like instead of punishing the law abiding majority.

Oh wait its easier just to keep putting prices up............
