Key interlock problem

Hello,

I have a 93 j-spec auto TT with a key stuck in the ignition problem. When I go into "P" I can turn the key to acc and the engine shuts off like normal but I can't turn the key to lock to take the key out. The solenoid for the interlock is still activated. I CAN take my key out if I take the neg off the battery then turn the key to lock to remove it. That's what I have been doing for the past few days which is really annoying everywhere I go. Prior to this nothing has been changed or touched on the car. It just randomly started happening a few days ago. Car does start fine and dashboard illuminates proper gear.

Things I have checked and tried:

A member on this forum suggest to adjust the white angled piece inside the auto gear selector handle and move it lower and higher to see if it will help catch the "P" sensor so the car knows its in P to release the key.

Checked for all the fuses everything ok. Pulled apart dash everything looks intact.

Tried jamming gear into park and wiggling gear selector.

Tried moving steering wheel left and right (doesn't lock because in acc mode).

I've ran a few searches but can't seem to find an answer to my problem. It's gotta be something simple because it just went. I don't think I need a new ignition barrel.

Does anyone know where I can find the connector or wire for the ignition solenoid? Or know how this is solved. Very frustrated :( I've looked in the service manual and couldn't really find any helpful information.

Found a temp fix to my problem :D: I took apart the dash and on top of the key ignition cylinder is the solenoid box. It's a bit hard to see but it has 2 blue wires coming from it with a thick wire insulator on it. Followed it way down behind the dash almost to the kick panel and just unplugged it. Tada solenoid deactivated. Key still locked in ignition when in ACC and ON like it should. Only difference is that I can turn the car to "LOCK" in any gear which I wouldn't be doing anyways. So I'll probably have the solenoid looked at when it gets warmer out.
