New computer shell problems

Hi all. I need some help from a computer saviour!

I have just re-shelled a PC (old PC into new case to make room for a bigger graphics card)

The problem is, when we switch it on we get no picture at all and the screen reads that there is no signal.

This is with both the (old) on board graphics card and new radion card.

We upgraded the psu also which is now kicking out 500w . More than enough to run the card.

Either way, both new and on board do not work.

We have reseated everything, tried another psu, pulled out all non essential peripherals, still we have nothing. No Error bleeps, no red LEDs or anything.

Help!?

Have you plugged in the secondary CPU power? The 4 or 6 pin one? Have you plugged in the GFX card power supply?

In order to use the onboard gfx you must first remove the one you have installed. When a card is plugged in it is automatically defaulted.

Hi guys, thanks for your replies!

Ok, so this is odd. firstly in reply to your questions. Yeah all power lines were in and re-seated. We couldn't remove the old drivers because even the VGA on board card wasn't working. We were worried we had damaged he mboard!

So, we took out the bios battery and reset everything. No change.

We found a very small hair connecting the jumpers together near the line for the power switch. We moved the hair with tweezers and suddenly the thing comes to life!!!????

Surly it wasn't the hair that fixed it?

Now the new card is in and working 100%

Thanks for your help tho! I'm most confused!
