Alpine
Been looking round now for a Supra TT - And in my travels a few people have said that the auto box is more reliable than the manual. Is this true? And what are the clutches like on the manual?
Markie
No experience with stock clutch sorry, but from what I hear, or don't hear. Manuals seem very good also. Not heard of any failures with them. Only been here a few months myself, so I am sure someone else has more experience to answer your question.
merckx
Never heard that one before, all of the gearboxes are known to be capable of handling much more power and torque than they were designed for and so are very reliable. The clutch is fine , not heavy at all. Infact the car is very easy to drive.
Kopite
when i picked up my supra i thought it would be a lot harder to drive than it is! clutch is nice, gearbox can be a bit clunky especially when cold but that's not a problem at all. straightsix
Father in law has a gearbox refurb business. He knows of no significant problems with Toyota gearboxes at all. Loads of Ford rubbish in though!!!
