hi all

just got me supra home.. but please help as this might become a big issue and i want to sort it asap..

basically the car drives perfectly not clutch slip or anything like that..

but

if you hold the clutch pedal down for more than about 2 seconds on the floor it comes up enough for the clutch to bite but the stops coming back up and sticks.. it doesnot make a difference if you try and put the clutch back down and the gear stays selected and unable to take out..

you have to pysically get you foot under the pedal and flick it up..

its only when the engine is running. and it changes gear drives fine.. just when foot is down at the floor for a couple of secomds..

please help me sort this..

its a 5 speed L reg NA

te car has sat for around 6 months..

I would remove strip and clean both master and slave cylinders and fit repair kits available from Toyota. Fill with frsh fluid and bleed, and it will probably be fine. The master cylinder vent hole is probably blocked with *rap from worn seals and aging fluid. If you are not 100% confident stripping hydraulics get a decent garage to do it.

Pete,

Sounds like the master or slave are slipping back. If the car has been stood for so long it may be worth getting the seal kits for both and refurbishing them. I've not done it on the Sup but you should be able to undo the slave from the clutch, get some one to press the clutch pedal and you can watch the movement of the cylinder. The hydraulic system for a clutch is fairly basic to be honest as long as you keep everything clean when your working on it.

The part of the dash where the warning bulbs are is 5 screws passing through the upper panel into the main dash. Read this and it will give you an indication on the panel removal which will give you access to the warning light panelshttp://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/boostguage/bg.htm

Hope this helps
