Suprash
I went to Teesside a couple of weeks ago and what a day. First off was the mission of a drive to get there and back, it was so far north I think I had almost convinced myself it was further south, my mate nearly sank in his chair as we set off and he decided to follow our route across a map, page after page he kept turning lol. But I went armed with caravan on the back of the truck and we travelled the night before after I had finished work at 19:00. We eventually rocked up at Teesside at about 02:30 at which point we promptly fell into the caravan to start to chill out for a bit. We eventually started to wind down at about 04:30 at which point me and my mate was positive we could hear someone outside 'messing around' with things. After another half hour of us acting like Meerkat's up and down at the windows checking, we eventually realised it was the straps on the top deck of the truck banging against his rear screen So the next day arrived, very quickly and proceeded inside to check out a place that has always had a massive reputation within the drifting world, even after 3 years of being shut, but as soon as I saw this place I got a little bit excited. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/180926_10150404246420384_640625383_17215200_4812574_n.jpg So we got the cars unloaded and proceeded to get out there to try this place out. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/168094_10150404246195384_640625383_17215196_5293743_n.jpg http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/168630_10150404245100384_640625383_17215171_2109605_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/180586_10150404246290384_640625383_17215198_5512249_n.jpg So on with the good stuff....... http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/180474_10150404244825384_640625383_17215164_4436055_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/181517_10150404724975384_640625383_17221816_3517014_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/168952_10150404724940384_640625383_17221814_8242274_n.jpg http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/180850_10150404244925384_640625383_17215165_502262_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/180834_10150404246635384_640625383_17215203_1992410_n.jpg Spot the boost pipe off lol.... http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/168070_10150404245620384_640625383_17215181_5948788_n.jpg Edited February 23, 2011 by Suprash (see edit history)

Suprash
Also, one of the photographers got me this, its not brilliant resolution but its good to have some video. Which brings me to another point, I have one of those bullet cams that was posted on here, the £1 jobs from Japan. Thing is when ever I try and install the drivers on the laptop it just errors with a runtime error I think it was. Does anyone techie know if there is anything I can do for this or anyway round it, without it I wont ever be able to transfere the video onto the laptop ? qCHkRrJU1vQ Ignore the RX7 at the end lol.... mekuRNf7Tu0 That last clip should have been this kP8ghS8SuyU So that was my day, the car got a lot of interest from the northeners, they loved seeing something different I think because I was giving passenger rides pretty much all day. We then chilled out for a few hours in the caravan, cooked up some spag bowl and set of around 22:00, eventually arriving back home at 06:00 the next morning, was totally shattered. All I really remember about the drive home was about 03:00 in the morning when we was pulling out of some services and instead of heading towards the A1(M), my mate directed me wrong off a roundabout onto the A46 death road with kamakarzi lorries, was all a bit sketchy with truck, 2 cars and a caravan Cant wait to go back for when the BDC hosts a round there

Rob
IIRC, and you'd need to check their website, they do open track days for about £100 with lunch thrown in. It would be very easy for members to get together for a supra day as they could all just pay the track directly for an agreed day.
Suprash
That probably sounds about right, for a drift day it was £60 for the day, but I would be up for a Supra day if other members were. I know Callum there really well, so could easily speak to him to find out what they could do for us. I doubt it would be any fun for people who want to grip race, its a large go-kart track and they only use the east side of the track so its really not a grip race circuit, but if a few driftys fancied it, me and a couple of mates could be pursuaded to make the trip again lol
AlexM
Nice writeup Ash. I went to Teesside with the TSS in 2009, really enjoyed it (being a night stage helped ) - very disappointed that it wasn't included last year. Get more videos up. That would be pretty cool having them set up inside and outside the car

Looks like fun anyway, I'd like to have a go at drifting at some point but preferably in a huge open space with just some cones as a course so it doesn't matter if I mess it up! You want to go to Pod in that case mate to start with. Play pen first, 1 cone, then 2, then onto the intermediate kidney, I'll always give pointers where I can looks like then na-t will suprise a few people. nice stuff mate After last years success with the build, it'll surprise a few people just seeing it running
RobSheffield
Motor sounds good matey, cant you put a moded OEM front bumper on though? Looks awful! However, i must ask.... it was so far north I think I had almost convinced myself it was further south Huh?!

Suprash
Motor sounds good matey, cant you put a moded OEM front bumper on though? Looks awful! However, i must ask.... Huh?! What do you mean by a modded OEM bumper, why a modded one ? Unfortunately mate with drifting its sometimes function over form, when you spend half of your day clipping tyre bundles and generally spinning everywhere in a flap front bumpers dont last long, and the Riddox front end sponsored by Knight-Racer will only see BDC events. Plus when Im practicing Im not too bothered what the car looks like, after all Im trying to progress And in reply to the Huh ? comment, what I meant is I looked up Teesside before commiting to the event, but I think inbetween that time and paying for it I convinced myself it was far, but not that far, after all, I done Knockhill 6 months earlier, now thats far, but on the day Teesside was a still a dig deep mission. Whatever do you mean I mean, Im a no one, a meer minion, so to start with a completely bare shell in January, well, one learns an awful lot of shit
RobSheffield
I meant modify it so its not so low, i understand you are spinng all over so its hard to have bodywork. I understand it being a practice though and that you will have a bumper for events, so thats ok, ill let you off Right i get what you mean about the distance now i think...
