JamesG
Phone Sky Insurance (The official club insurer!). http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=34032 They gave me the best quote and I was also able to agree a value for my car in the event of a total loss (was 35 quid extra). imi
Best I got from Sky today was £1975, Scott will call me on Monday. By then I will probably end up renewing my policy at a saving of over £300 with the current insurer.
Jay
Sky do insure under 25s, I got a reasonable quote from them to insure mine, with an agreed value. Not as cheap as my renewal though!

I paid £720 p.a, i was 27 at the time with a clean licence and fully protected NCB (just a matter of time - the tempation to go faster is getting too much ) The time before that I paid £820 via Directline (get an extra 10% discount if you have their home insurance too)

I have rung everyone that people have mentioned and the very best i can get is £1900 from Sky Why does everyone else seem to be able to get better quotes than me? Im 22, 5 years no claims, 6 points, car lives in garage. Use it as a second car and milage is restricted to 5000. Really anoying me now, i was hoping when i got to 5 years no claims my insurance would start coming down a bit Any ideas anyone ( p.s i still have another car to insure aswell)

Stonkin
dont understand that mate, your only 1 year younger and have 1 more point, was that as a standard car or declaring all your mods?
mawby
Try asking Sky if they can explain why it is so high. It might be something as simple as your postcode.
Jake
Regarding valuations, Tesco just ask "Is the car worth more than £30,000?" Unless you're talking about 'agreed valuation' of course.
overspent
I am an older fart but got the best deal with mods declared from Keith Michaels, Tesco were cheap when car was standard but didn't want to know and doubled the premium when informed of what were really the basic of mods. Have stuck with KM since then.
