AlliRR
Hi, So today was a nice day and I set about detailing the cars, I hit the unlock button on my TOAD AI606 and all appears well (alarm chirps to say its unlocked)... I grab the handle and... its still locked and wont unlock via the fob. I had to unlock it with the key in the barrel... I finished waxing the car and set about taking off the door card (drivers side) to investigate further - thinking its just a sticky mechanism... I WD40'd the lock/mechanism and allowed to dwell and tried randomly locking/unlocking with key and fob but to no avail. It locks fine but wont release the lock via the fob, theres NO SOUND from the locks at all on the 'unlock' motion. Any ideas? I've had a browse of the historic threads on here regarding "changing the little red box to a blue one" and so on but I have no idea if any of this is appropriate to my fault. Any help yous could give is appreciated p.s. I dont have any instructions for this alarm if thats an issue.
L18msy
Im have had the same problem a few times mate, usually only happens in cold weather. It did it to me last week, the locking stopped working when it was cold but it is fine again now. Weird!
Geo
is there not a little battery in these?

LOGIE
I had the same problem last year. I took the door cards off and dried the locks from the inside (left an electric fan heater inside the car with window open enough for the cable), there was a little moisture built up. Once I was satisfied it was totally dry I waxoiled the inside of the door including electrics. Never had any probs since.
Supra Gaz
Mine is still doing this, I changed the central locking unit (which was a bitch bt the way) to no avail. I'm struggling to diagnose it to be honest, if you fix it let me know what you did!
AlliRR
Might see if I can borrow a lock incase mines is goosed. When I press arm/disarm theres defo less noise from the locks than usual.
Supra Gaz
Mine has the exact same problem, could it have something with the lock solenoids having trouble releasing? I'm sick of having my car in bits trying to sort it out.if anyone has any ideas about central locking systems please put up!
AlliRR
I spoke to keron about a new locking catch mate, he pointed me at some wierd cdi controller or something which is prone to failure, its a red box which can be changed for a more reliable blue one... Im going to probably swap catches this weekend, if that doesnt solve it ill try the controller ma bob... Ive also emailed the installer of my TOAD ai606 incase they can shed any light from an alarm perspective. Ill let you know how I go.

I have already changed the central locking control unit, its a pig to get out. I actually managed to fix it today by removing all the connectiond, cleaning them and re-wiring them, it was a messy job but its worked! I need to put the car back together now..... Good luck with yours mate

SupraP-Z
I had the exact same problem, during winter i found it was very temperamental, most of the time deciding not to lock/unlock. Sometimes the alarm would arm, but the doors wouldnt lock, all sorts of silly things. Make sure your battery is fully charged as one time my alarm went crazy and wouldnt stop...had to disconnect the battery...that did sort things out though. Try just disconnecting the battery for a a while, you may need to keep a hairdryer at the locks if its cold. Mine seemed to sort itself out once the weather got a bit better. AlliRR
half day today at work so set about the car, 1st cable I disconnected - the lock seems to work... can anyone identify what this cable is connected to? I reconnected it stopped working again, so its defo something to do with that wire... heres the other end of it inside the door: Any help is very much appreciated!!! Also, had a look at the relay - seems I already have the blue kind.... not to say it isnt faulty though...
