well, the car went back over the bridge yesterday to nevins & dr jeckyl. this trip saw the new lexus V8 brakes fitted UCF20s with chris wilson fast road pads, these weigh half of what the j-spec calipers did! very straight forward to fit. christ! they stop like something else.. we also done the full service, i was shocked to see how hard it was to change the plugs! this alone took an hour or so, new silicone hoses also, as we have fitted gauges etc & a sandwhich plate. they also under took the stereo install, with new door mounts, new speakers new head unit, we decided not to fit the brand new alpine amp, SO IF ANYONE WANTS THIS & THE WIRING KIT PLEASE LET ME KNOW! all of my new carbon wrapped panels were installed, hecled sorted me with new blue heater controls. new el glo dials, i got back home at 22:00 yesterday, they worked there socks off, it seems what ever you throw at them, they will do, next project is the big single!

Are those not 1 piece and lighter than UK spec? If so they might be a bit better in all honesty. Did they need a fitting bracket or was it a straight fit?

yes mate 1 piece, i could'nt believe how light they were scott, no brackets needed, craig (dr) had them on in minutes. all you see through the 5 spokes are discs & calipers

Yeah, those are a fair bit lighter than the UKs from memory. Just as good as the UKs at stopping as far as I know too, so win win :)

i think he whipped a file over one edge, just for clearance. to be honest guys they were on the car so quick. we had to bend the backing plate to accomodate them, if that helps. i actualy bought from a lexus dealer, so would'nt think they came from a supra...

i was advised not to fit the lexus rears scott! this reason i dont know, you would need to drop dr jekyl or nevins a PM, it has something to do with the balance of the braking system, it locks up or something, sorry im not to sure, but craig tracks his car & says a bias switch or something, best to speak to them, but the people who have done this still use j-spec rears...£60 got me the front discs & calipers in as new condition mate

For £60? Fronts & rears? Can you get me a price for all 4 posted please? If the discs are the same as UKs I won't need those. :)

the lexus rears straight up wont fit. i had uk rears on the back of mine with the lexus fronts but had big rear lock problems especially when down shifting in big stops. i put the j-specs back on the rear and the car dose not lock the rears as much into corners and is more stable , thats why i prefer the jap rears

Yup makes sense. I guess the V8s aren't quite as good as the UKs then. Great upgrade option from Jspecs though.

again back over the bridge today, seen the last of the poly bushes being fitted, couldnt believe how quick to do the rear upper arms. we then finished off the interior mods, the A pillar gauge pod went in quite quickly compared to the actual gauges them selves. after much soldering & removing more trim!!! it eventualy went back together with craig giving it a blast round, however! we took the feed from the kick down sensor, so when foot down the gauges reset them selves, after another 10 mins with the soldering iron., i headed home over the bridge, 18:30! just a couple of things left before the big work starts now. anyone considering daves dash panels, do it! they make such a difference..... thank you so much craig & gareth, another saturday given up with no financial reward!!
