Scott
I don't think this is a repost as I haven't spotted it around so hopefully it will be of use to someone. This site contains a database of free phone numbers and land line number alternatives to 0845, 0844 etc etc etc. If you are fed up with paying ridiculous charges for getting in touch with your bank etc then look no further. Clearly it won't be an exhaustive list but there is quite a comprehensive database of numbers on there. http://www.saynoto0870.com/
caseys
Use this all the time and it's good sometimes you initially start with a wrong department in a company but they're generally happy to put you through
Havard
I hate 0870 number and 0845 numbers. I rang loads of insurance companies in the last 12 months and would never call one with a premium rate number..!! H.

Matt H
Over the years I've used this site a number of times but found it mostly unreliable. Even if you get through via a number it may not get you were you want.
