CanisLupus
Hi guys, may be a stupid question. But are the EU/UK spec and J Spec IAT Sensors the same? I know the part number is different but i wonder if i could slap on the EU sensor in my Jspec? Cheers Aleks EDIT If it helps, Part Number for the Jspec IAT would be 89424-24010 EU/UK Spec is 89424-12010. CanisLupus
I found some Illustrations of the 89424-12010 Sensor and it looks different to mine. Are you sure? The friendly parts guy at Mr T thinks they are the same but he isn't 100% sure. Another question. Would a faulty IAT Sensor(Ohm reading says it gives a Temperature of -20°C to the ECU @ 30°C) cause missfire, bad idling(jumps between 1300 and 2000rpm) and sometimes backfire? Swampy442
I think the sensor you mean is the ECU temp sensor, thats near the water pump. Not sure it would give backfires though? The IAT is universal across the 1 and 2JZ tt engines I believe. Looked on ToyoDIY and although the part numbers are different they look the same. CanisLupus
It's the sensor in the Intake manifold(next to the MAP Sensor). toyodiy.com says SENSOR, INLET AIR TEMPERATURE (FOR E.F.I.) for the Part Number 89424-24010 and for 89424-12010 it shows the same. Is this relevant for the fueling?
Tricky-Ricky
IAT sensor shouldn't make a big difference, as it just deals with a small amount of fuel trim, however if it was the ECU water temp sensor it would have much more of an impact. Swampy442
I know what one you mean mate. I was sugesting the one you might want to look at is the ECU temp one. Run the car, and unplug the IAT sensor, see if it makes a difference.
