imi
Arrived at LeeP this morning, while chatting to him I dropped my iphone4 on the floor and cracked the screen...... If I take it to Apple - will they be able to replace it under the 1 yr warranty or is this going to be an insurance jobbie? imi
TTRickeh
I'd be surprised if the 1 year warranty covered you chucking it on the floor
Ric
if you take it to apple say you dropped it from a low hight and say it should be able to with stand a 30cm drop or something and its not durable (a few people have done this before), if that fails, eat the 110£ I think it is for a replacement

imi
LOL K, before I take it to Apple and get them to fix / replace it, would the following item fix the problem... http://www.lingosbox.com/product_info.php?language=en¤cy=GBP&products_id=
TTRickeh
MarcAB10 smashed his recently and put a thread up about it here. Might be of some help if you want to give it a bash yourself and save a few quid.

If I just wanted to replace the broken screen then would an item like THIS be sufficient or do i need the replacement LCD / digitizor combo. jackso11
hmmm. so they can make white replacement parts but not a white phone itself.....I would question the quality of that part.
Ric
The LCD on the iphone 4 is bonded to the actual glass, therefore u can't replace the glass and not the LCD, you will need a complete screen LCD, digitiser the lot. Just take it to apple and see how much they want at least then you know it's getting done with genuine parts etc
AndyT
Only a year warranty. For such an expensive and popular phone they don't give a lot away do they?
Guest ugp
I've fixed a few of these, 50 quid in parts would see it fixed. Drop me a PM if interested.
CustomIce
I've just fixed a mate's one, Glass, digitizer and LCD, as said about £50 parts. It's a pain the LCD is now bonded to the glass at least with the 3 it was just a £13 glass and digitizer replacement. I know its to stop dust getting in it, but surely a half decent gasket would have been better. Sorry back on topic, it's likely they'll want to charge for fixing it, but it's definately worth a shot. Benzsupra
Where are you guy's finding the replacement parts for £50? I've looked on eBay but the cheapest i can see is about £80... I have googled it too but i don't get anywhere near them prices!

Got the unit converted to white - very pleased with the results, took him 40 mins. http://www.lovefone.co.uk/ and it cost me 130 to get it converted to white - labour included
