hay guys. Ok iv bent the cpu pins back to what appears to be normal and the PC booted up. So i put the mobo back in set it all up. turned it on it didnt restart like it was doing but no image on the screen.

then finally it shut down on its own. Powered it up again then with no display it shut down again after 30 seconds or so.

starting swapping graphics cars around etc. tryed different ram slots and then its started turning on and off like it was to start with.

do you think i need to send the board back to get the cpu bay replaced on the board as the pins may still be messed up?

Thanks

Paul

I'd take it out and do what you did to get it working again. CPU has warmed up and the expansion has moved it enough to lose contact again? Re-check socket in all directions for bends. Be ultra careful though. :)

I'm just going round in circles here but I don't think you have tried this yet...

Take out all the components, remove everything so that the motherboard is bare other than the PSU supply. Turn on the PC. You will get the "no memory" beeps but the PC should stay on. From there add 1 stick of memory and the CPU, being careful when you line it up, along with the heatsink & fan. Turn it on again. It should try to boot until not finding any boot devices, again it should not turn off.

That will rule out the PSU for me, never say never ;)

Hay all.

OK finally i have sorted my PC. Took the cpu out spent ages making all pins 100% perfect. (1 is damaged but pc runs fine)

Also found out during the process that one graphics card is dodgy also one stick of RAM (which is new) So will send them off.

Can i say a massive thanks to Daman, Morphous and Scott for being so patiant with me and my posts that could be alot clearer but as i was using my phone it was a bit of a pig.

Thanks again

Paul

I feel for you mate, must have been a nightmare having to rely on your phone.

Glad you got it sorted, dodgy ram is a real PITA.

Blimey, no wonder it wouldn't boot. Sounds like the PSU was the only component that did actually work! :D

Anyway, you're welcome. I love a challenge. Speaking of which, now to fix my other PC that tells me that 4 HDD's are dead. Bought an SSD for it but it won't see any of them. Of course they all work but try telling the mobo that. Blasted pooters! :D

You haven't had the best of luck with that PC have you!

God no!! As you know damon i came you you via pm on overclock advice to find out the P43 were very ristrictive on overclocking. Its a P45 now so once i got my RAM and graphics card sorted i will see on the overclocking side of it.

Also get some pics of my very hard work with the cable management :) involved full strip down and drilling extra wholes etc..

Thanks again...
