MisterSheen
have a word with aidy flux guys they are very competitive with sky for business Neither were for me recently, albeit the Sky chappie was claiming their quote as very competitive in the current climate. Livingstones Warman beat Sky by the best part of £160 in the end, with free legal cover thrown in

colsoop
It has been rising steadily in the Supra world as the cost of the cars has come down and the age of the owners has too.
Westy
whats their number pal... is that covering mods like for like replacements too Livingstone Warman – 01935706258 They were £100 cheaper than Sky for me also, but I'd already taken out the policy!!!!!!! Jumped in after some of the quotes I got! Oh well...but will def keep them in mind for next year! Only thing was they insist on a £500 excess! supra_si
agreed mate, when i got my renewal i spoke to aidy flux and they said bare with me a moinute, 1 minute later they had lopped 75 quid off the price....... makes me think if they can do that how low can they really go? Aero-M
I have said nothing but praises about Sky, Recommended them to lots of people, even on other clubs. BUT: I insured with them last year for £320. I have done less than 1000 miles each year for the last 2 years. I only have the supra on the road until the end of august/sept and tax it march/april. So it's not a big risk I wouldn't have thought, 12 years no claims and they want £480 this year wtf!

rock on
im dreading my renewal in april my insurance s £1500 at the mo i would start getting quotes now,for a general idea of renewal cost, but remember you get a quote now,& another on the beginning of next month the prices will probably differ a lot, ive had quotes in the past, 2 weeks before my insurance was due called them back to take there offer only to be told that price was calculated on last months figures, its a new month & they will have to re-calculate,then it normally goes up a few hundred.. tw*ts.. http://clubaristo.net/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=
SPG
I guess insurance is one of those mysterious variables in life, whether you do good (stay claim free) or bad (make a fault claim) the results can still come back with an increased premium due to market changes and stats. I'm pretty sure that if I was to get a quote for my Supra with 0 ncd and then another with my 7 years ncd, then the difference between both quotes would not be equal to the amount of discount I had accumulated let's say 50%. The only thing I would like to say about our club insurers is that they will talk you through your price and give reasons for their decision, if they can't match it then they will tell you, and to me that saves me waiting around for another 2 hours while a company gets back to me with a slightly better but not good enough quote. Shop around I guess is the moral of the story :-)
p3te
Sky insurance have never been able to quote me for some reason, due to my age i think but I’m 24 and sure I’ve seen younger drives insured with them, quick look on confused.com results come up elephant cheapest @ about £1986
Shane
Had my renewal through from Sky at £542, thats with 9yrs NCD, very old, TT J-spec with few mods. So I called to see how much extra to include boost controller as added mod this year and it pushed it up to £742. Rang around and got it from MarkRichard for £475 including the boost controller. hp006
Adrian flux quoted me £460 thats £140 more than last year. I just tried Parkers and the best quote was £8909. How can there be such a difference. It makes me laugh im 29 car is garaged day and night i have 7yrs ncb, do about 3000 miles a yr, I am within the top 8% of qualified drivers in the uk. Where do they get the figures from??

Where do they get the figures from?? Parkers is a comparision site, just like pretty much every insurance site now. The prices are based on a risk profile set by each insurance company. The reason you're being quoted such a high amount is the insurers through Parkers don't want to insure you for whatever reason.
Gaz6002
This explains it: http://www.parkers.co.uk/News/News/102k-for-insurance-cover/
hp006
But thats the bit i dont understand Different insurance providers rate on different risks, and its worth bearing in mind that some companies will effectively price themselves out of the market based on how much they would like the business As a legal requirement why?? And if im in the top % of qualified drivers why would they not want to insure me. Surely i would be a 'safe bet'?? I have never seen a quote like it. They did however ring to see if i would like to take out the policy of which i had to decline
