Just a quick one but i think i can under stand the physics behind this question,

i have a 2.5 decat with a 1.2 bar rr fitted but make about 1.05

i have now got stage 3 hybrids and using the boost controler to make 1.3 bar of boost

the duty is set to about 50% for first turbo and up to about 70% for second, so forceing the turbos to make that boost wouldnt it be safer for the turbos for me to file out the rr to a larger size?

the exhaust gas coming down the pipe is hitting the rr and causing terbulance in exhaust system thus would have a affect on spooling.

well what im asking is should i file the ring out to make the boost controler duty more like 20% and 40%

what are peoples veiws on this

I would always aim for 0.1 to 0.2 of adjustment for the boost controller to handle. If you are seeing 1.05bar with no boost control then I would possibly open it out very slightly until you were seeing 1.1bar and then use the boost controller to get up to 1.3bar.

My RR currently nets me 0.9 which isn't enough IMO as my EGTs are way higher than they were before I fitted the RR (I was careful not to overboost). It's on my todo list :D
