bluecoup
Right. Girl friends Laptop was running vista, very slow and just all round horrid. So cleaned it off formatted the drive and installed xp all good so far. Now come to get it on the net for the service packs and the drivers I'm missing. Can't the drivers I'm missing are for the LAN card, wireless card, and the usb bus to name the main ones. Tried downloading service pack 2 to desk top and copying it to a cd and using that but desk top won't burn it to the disc for some reason. From what I've found sp2 should contain the drivers I need ? It's a asus laptop and doesn't seem to have a list of xp drivers anywhere as they all come pre installed with vista. Anyone got any pointers please. BazzaAlpine
Does the laptop manufactures site not have the drivers separately?

tomgeer
You used to be able to get sp2 for xp sent to you free of charge from microsoft. I did it a few years back, have a look on the microsoft website.
bluecoup
CHecked the asus site and the only way you can get up to date drivers is to scan the computer which I can't do cause I need drivers for the LAN and wireless. Pffft.

bluecoup
Thanks Thorin. I spent ages looking on there and could only find the pc doctor rubbish. I'll try them out tonight if I get a chance.
