CanisLupus
Hi guys. Because of some missfire and idle problems i wanted to check for fault codes. So connected TE1 and E1, switched igntion on(alarm was disarmed) and... nothing. The CEL light didn't flash at all. Tried several times and nothing changed. I know this worked because i checked codes few months ago. Some ideas why it doesn't anymore? No changes in ECU, Alarm or other things i could think of. Steve
Check for dry solder joints on the back of that dash panel Quite a common problem.
CanisLupus
Thanks for the tip. Forgot to mention but i've soldered everything back then when i needed the diagnostics and realised some of the lights weren't working as intended. All lamps are working fine(CEL, Oil Level, Oil Pressure). Or could dry joints come back after a few months and manifest in a non flashing CEL which is lighting up? It just won't flash when i bridge TE1 and E1 Edited February 13, 2011 by CanisLupus (see edit history)
Steve
Try swapping the lamp with a known working one just in case that one is broke.
CanisLupus
Nop didn't work. Lamp lights up when i turn to pos 2 but no flashing when i connect the two ports. Joints look ok. Is there something else that could be wrong?
Konrad
Logically - TE1 or e1 port might be faulty, try on ECU or there is another plug under steering wheel, all pins are described on plug cover and TE1 - E1 pins are there.
