benkei
A bit late starting this thread, but for Christmas I got a bansai tree! I've always thought they were really interesting, minature trees in your house! Here's how it started: As you can see, a but wild and messy, not really any shape or form to it. And after some EXTREME trimming! I cut it all back so I could manage what branches I wanted to grow and which ones I didn't in order to get the shape I want. I also cleaned up the soil and watered it It's starting to sprout and grow back again now, so it's just a case of managing and maintaining it. I'll get some better photos soon after I've pruned it again Does anyone else here have bansai trees?

Thorin
I used to have a few, a couple have died off now due to me neglecting them in the cold weather. Still have a Ginko bonsai that still needs a few years before it starts looking decent.
Animal
Is it some kind of attack-shrub? As a last act of desperation, you hurl it at your enemies screaming "Banzai"? Otherwise, nice Bonsai tree

GreaseMonkey
I have a Bonsai Tree, be it a baby one grown from a cutting, only 18 months old. It is a Ligustrum Japonicum Rotundifolium or "Stumpy"
benkei
That one has a long way to go, hey! How long until it becomes more 'minature tree' like?
GreaseMonkey
That one has a long way to go, hey! How long until it becomes more 'minature tree' like? It'll probably take about 5+ years approx to look more Tree like. I'm going to wire train/ shape my Tree from the summer onwards, so I can give it more of a traditional Bonsai Tree shape.
