ripped_fear
Car was due to go to the body shop Tuesday but due to a few personal things had to change that plan. So its pencilled in for 3 weeks time Tuesday. Will be having the side skirts repaired and painted. If time I will get the underside of the bonnet done too but think this may have to wait as we are short on time. However instead Tuesday I will be definitely stripping the interior out. Also need to check this earth out, battery is completely dead but it had be disconnected a while, now the earth is sorted I will have to take it on a drive to see if it will hold a charge, if not will check the earthing point is clean or maybe just stick another battery in. ripped_fear
Due to the godforsaken snow that decided to make an appearance last night, I don't fancy getting the car out the garage to strip the interior. So instead carried on with the sub install. All fibreglass work is now done, also started the trimming and removed a few imperfections with the dremmel. The 12" sits in there nicely However the weather is improving so may venture out in a bit

ripped_fear
Looks nice and solid mate Yeah really happy with how it came out, had to lay some more fibreglass and resin on the right side yesterday but now its very solid.
ripped_fear
So for a temporary measure I have put some black leatherette over it to tidy it up, however I will be taking this off at some point and skimming it instead to smooth it then paint it matte black. ripped_fear
Well today was a very productive one, two big jobs nearly finished. Got the facelift carpet in and also nearly finished the Do-luck cage. Need to sort the mountings in the boot then all the back end can be bolted down. Also while the carpet was up I fitted the Mines ECU, wasnt expecting a great deal but just took the car round the block, and I dont care what people say, there is a massive difference even with the car as-is, much more alive and ready to rev. Also the high red line is very nice too. Cant fully appreciate it yet as need to sort the exhaust out but that is all in hand. Any way PICTURES Found my JDM coin out with the old New ecu going in New carpet Stripping the back down ready for the cage mountings in
ripped_fear
Also didnt get a picture of it but the amount of old crap under the carpet was insane! loads of old audio wire too, made sure I ripped it all out. 99% sure my battery is dead too, so need to order a new one, its only a few years old too! Piece of rubbish

Stop spending it all on shiny bits that make it heavier and slow it down then!

ripped_fear
First start up after fitting the new ECU, once the cage is fully fixed I will do a video of it driving. [video=youtube;R8rUT-FlZ54]
Graham1984
Regarding your sub box I do fibreglass flatt roofing now and then. We use a product called Cure It and they can supply any possible topcoat colour as far as I'm aware. You just mix it up in the same way as the resin with catalyst which might provide a harder lasting finish.
Kendo11
Fantastic work Jake, looks like you've been busy! How much did you pay for the ecu? Does it need mapping or anything or just plug and play? Also the cage, where did you get that from?

Jake and Herb are the only other people I know who have them atm.
Kendo11
Do the mines and aem ones offer the same benefits?
ripped_fear
Thanks for the info regarding the fibreglass. Maybe another option. As above the ecu is plug and play and coat 250. As far as I'm aware the mines and toms were the only ones made. And both very rare. I got the cage from a member on here. Mines the Ali version and rather rare. I got a bargain. Kendo11
Nice. Will you be off onto a dyno to see if the mines does make any difference in figures? Just be careful with the cure it, it's a very different product to normal halfords fibreglass.
ripped_fear
Some point I will get it on a dyno yeah. Want to sort the exhaust first though . then the dyno can happen. Also thinking of upgrading the arb's. Thanks for the heads up I will look into it before I decide.

Kendo11
Yeah the UK tt ones seem to be a good option. Probably most cost effective too
ripped_fear
Yeah the UK tt ones seem to be a good option. Probably most cost effective too yeah TT one would be the most cost effective for sure, but if doing changing I will be doing the bushes, and drop links too so will more lean towards what ever will have the best outcome.
