You all can call me mad if you like, but I love the car so more mods are happening :p

Haven't updated in a while as Im just waiting on the paint shop and parts.

Thanks to Slam I now have the stock rear trims on there way, ready for the diffusers arrival in November.

I also have a few more shiny bits for under the bonnet. And the Car should be going into the paint shop the second week of November.

I now have a new shallow mount sub woofer awaiting its new amp, meaning I can build a custom sub box in the boot :)

Got my new rear trims here now, so going to remove the spats soon in prep for the diffuser.

Also got a Spark Plug Cover dress up kit from rob to replace my painted ones.

More coming soon, hoping this Sunday I can actually get to work on fitting my new stuff. Got a mountain of parts now and no time to work on it.

Had a busy morning today, and am fairly happy with the out come.

I have now fitted allot of new goodies.

First replaced my fuse box cover, which had no sides for a nicer fitting one.

Then Got rid of the TRD oil cap and replaced with the JUN one,

Fitted a new set of Spark plug dress up nuts from the GB,

New set of Polished rad clamps fitted,

Fitted the Ignition cover,

Marked a TT relay cover which I am going to use to cover the igniter,

Re polished the top of the engine.

And fitted a new handbrake surround as my old one was bending out.

I wonder if you could get the rad brackets plated.

I do silver plating where I work, I reckon that would stop them rusting, you must be able to get a similar process. can mitchell not get them chromed for you?

not 100% sure what the material used for the rad brackets is. mild steel wouldnt polish up that well. it must be a low grade stainless steel or be some kind of mild steel with more nickel in it and less chromium.

Looking good dude, you just need a s/s or black cover for the battary and it will look mint

Thanks mate im on the look for a new one, as my old one is a bit tatty now. (Hence why its not fitted.)

Hey mate, yeah Rob could Chrome them for me, just trying to keep things on budget atm, but I will invest in some chromed ones at some point. I would have thought silver plating would cost more than chroming?

I wonder how come the rad clamps come up shiney like stainless, then rust like buggery?

Shame you can't send me one, I could check the surface of the material and see what it is. If it was stainless, the material creates a passive layer and prevents the iron in the metal from reacting with air, but mild steel doesnt usually have such a shine to it.

Pretty sure they are steel mate, just been highly polished on a machine polisher

Sorry mate mis-read. Im tired mate, yea mild steel rusts. Even if you coat it, you will get a layer of oxygen stuck between whatever you coat it with and the metal.

Shame you can't just laquer it and then it's protected.

How much to chrome plate them? Maybe silver plate them, then laquer them? Might be able to sort something out for you.
