ripped_fear
Right this is the build for my car. I have had it for just over half a year now and in that time have done rather allot to it. So I will start with how it started and what I have done to the present day, then i will keep it up to date. I bought the car from devon for 5k, it is a L-reg N/A 5speed with 30,000 miles on the clock, and from the second I got into it I loved it, and the 200 mile drive back to the isle of wight just made me love it even more. So enough chit chat, time for some pics of the the add and the day I bought it. Attero
You took photos of your PC screen? You might want to chuck this into the project cars forum if you are going to make this a build thread.
ripped_fear
The first thing I decided to do to the car was splash out and buy some nice audio for it, So I went down to my local ICE shop and purchased 4 Pioneer TS-E1702i speakers and a Pioneer double DIN AVH-P4200DVD head unit, along with the rear input ipod lead, to be installed into the centre console. Fitting of the head unit turned out to be fun to install as someone at some stage had already installed a double DIN head unit and had chopped all the wires in the rear so that took a little while to sort out but got it done after a little bit of sweat and swearing. oh and I followed the guide on here for the speaker brackets and they turned out great! big thanks to the creator of the template back together Edited July 5, 2011 by ripped_fear (see edit history)

ripped_fear
After looking through alot of pictures I decided the next step was to change the front end originally I was going to go with a do-luck front, but changed my mind and got an rmm lip without the side bits due to the road down my way. ripped_fear
really happy with the outcome although the colour match is not perfect but the car will get a full respray at some point so this is not much of a major problem. ripped_fear
Next job I wanted to do was to get myself a nice set of leather front seats and after a search I found a nice set of oem's in great condition so picked them up a japfest finale and got to fitting the next day. They turned out really nice, gives the interior a much more expensive feel to it! really happy with them although I have marked the drivers side seat slightly which was rather annoying, but i'm just being picky as they still look good Edited July 5, 2011 by ripped_fear (see edit history)

jackso11
Hold on, you bought a NA for 5k and plan to turn it into a TT6?? You could have saved yourself a lot of money by getting a TT6 to start out with. I know people will say its only done 30k, but I am sure a huge percentage of import cars are clocked anyway because they all look like brand new when they arrive here due to the climate being better over there. Plus you are swapping the engine out, so will only benifit from the low milage with a none rusty chasis.....which you get on any fresh import. It looks very nice, but it is a very expensive way to a TT6
Wez
Maybe its a silly question but why did you take the seat backs of to remove and install them
d-_-b
Maybe its a silly question but why did you take the seat backs of to remove and install them Guess it made it easier to remove / put in. Less chance of knocking something when taking them out - always hate getting the runner section out past the sill

ripped_fear
Maybe its a silly question but why did you take the seat backs of to remove and install them not a silly question mate, the answer is i had to as the one i bought didnt not come with the frames, so i had to remove the seats of the frames and fix the leather ones to my old frames. ripped_fear
Now I promised myself that I would NOT start any work to the engine (looks wise).... but unfortunately I have given in and I started making the NA engine look a little better (in my eyes) I firstly bought a replacement rad cap, due to my last one giving up, then it spiralled and went on to buy some more chrome and gave the spark covers to my dad to be painted. On the day I had the covers off, I had a go at polishing the rocker and as a first attempt I was very happy with the out come. ripped_fear
While all the parts where off I gave it even more wax, and went and picked up the the covers and got to fitting I even painted the nuts and bolts, Edited July 5, 2011 by ripped_fear (see edit history)
