neilp9876
I'd be interested too, however the ebay ones are £130 not £160. The difference being the postage which you may also need to take into account?
peter richards
yes i said £160 taking in the £30 postage , see what prices i can get on the steeel , will determine if i can get them made for less . its my quiet time now with the detailing so just a thought thats all

imi
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-RAMP-EXTENTIONS-CARS-LOW-GROUND-CLEARANCE-/290535509347?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item43a5440d63 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-Car-Ramps-3-ton-Low-Clearance-Wide-/400263735803?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item5d3193e9fb my concern on the 1st one is purely the width of the ramps (other than that it looks OK for the job, fairly compact too), as said earlier this shouldn't be an issue as the tyres are subject to harsher treatment on the road. The product in the 2nd link looks interesting.
Wez
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-RAMP-EXTENTIONS-CARS-LOW-GROUND-CLEARANCE-/290535509347?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item43a5440d63 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-Car-Ramps-3-ton-Low-Clearance-Wide-/400263735803?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item5d3193e9fb Would bother with first ones, second link looks quite good
merckx
He's also selling them £20 cheaper unpainted. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/renovation-restoration-low-profile-incline-car-ramps-long-low-angle-unpainted-/120834162431?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item1c2246feff
peter richards
ok so he wants £140 un painted . just depends on the steel price now guys
peter richards
looking at the steel prices, the delivery is about what the guy is asking , to make it worth my while my price UNPAINTED would be £130 delivered , so saving a tenner . thought id be able to do it a lot cheaper but the steel is expensive and the postage is £30. not had the ok from homer yet . but would need 5 peeps to do this . let me know your thoughts guys
Josh
Would these need painting to stop corrosion? Edit: Not that that would be an issue, just wondering.
peter richards
yes its carbon (mild ) steel so will rust , if you look at jamies pics his are painted but you can see rust coming through , light surface rust will be no problem , it wont compromise the strength , if it was me id get them galvanised but then that would be silly money
Noz
My supra is very low. The front bumper isn't very low compared to the Do-Luck etc, but the whole car has been dropped, I'm worried these won't be low enough for me. I will measure it when I get home tonight, would there be any chance of extra length being made onto them?
peter richards
i doubt it they are best part of 6 ft now , i think a couple of bits of wood just in front would do just to ease it up first
Shane
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-RAMP-EXTENTIONS-CARS-LOW-GROUND-CLEARANCE-/290535509347?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item43a5440d63 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-Car-Ramps-3-ton-Low-Clearance-Wide-/400263735803?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item5d3193e9fb The ones in the second link would only bring you car up 17 cms if I am reading those dims correctly, not a lot of difference to parking on a kerb. Noz
Ok, sounds good, I shall have a measure tonight just to confirm.
Dim Sum
£160 , as i said i could make these no problem , steel is expensive atm , but if you guys want i can look into it , im sure i can make them for less than that price If you can make these and maybe suitable for mine I would take one. I'm about 2"5 inches or maybe 3" inches of the ground from the front bumper
peter richards
making them wont be a problem to the dimensions above , but i think with particularly low kits you will need to get some boards or planks just to lift it a bit first . if i was to make it in one they would be about 15 foot long lol
ashbuster
lol yeah i see maybe some add on bits in steel for people that are interested too
peter richards
see how these go first , i can probably make something shallow , but saying that a plank is free
