Slicknick
Well the callipers on the supra were looking a bit grubby and the original logos had faded so i decided to repaint them and apply new logos. Buffed off corrosion and old decals I Used Halfords Black High temp enamel paint, it went on great and gave a nice smooth gloss look. Finally decals on. Did the same on the other side too. All done I am very pleased and hoping to do the rears tomorrow weather permitting!

d-_-b
Very nice, that paint did give a decent finish, and should be strong too I would imagine
Stan
Looks good, what did you use to clean them up, and did you do them on the car? (just so I can get some pointers for when I attempt to do it!)
Slicknick
Nice job mate, really like the oem style decals. Thanks b;3030584']Very nice' date=' that paint did give a decent finish, and should be strong too I would imagine [/quote'] Cheers, i hope it lasts, i noticed most people on here used Hammerite but i though i would give the high temp paint a go, time will tell i guess... Looks good, what did you use to clean them up, and did you do them on the car? (just so I can get some pointers for when I attempt to do it!) I painted them on the car, gave everything a good spray and degrease with STP brake cleaner, then wire brushed the calipers back to bare metal. Also masked off everything around the caliper before painting.

Josh
I'm thinking of doing this sometime soon . I used Halfords caliper paint on my Clio and I had it for 2 years afterwards and the red stayed looking perfect. Are the new decals/stickers just flimsy paper stickers? If so do you have to take car when cleaning them in future?
Dnk
Look pretty good, have you checked the seals on the pistons ? Edited February 8, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)
Homer
Very nice mate, did mine a couple of months ago too. Simple job but really tidies things up, it's the little details that make the difference Are the new decals/stickers just flimsy paper stickers? If so do you have to take car when cleaning them in future? I can't speak for Nick's ones, but they are normally a special caliper decal, made of some sort of resistance plastic paint. They're made to withstand high temp but as always it's important to apply them correctly otherwise they'll strip off first time you use a jet wash. You can get a set (3 fronts, 3 rears, the extras are in case you mess one up!), for about £15 from ebay. It's also possible to get smaller ones if you have the smaller calipers. As Homer said they are the Hi-temp vinyl stickers you can get on eBay, seem quite robust so should do the job
optim8
Did mine last summer and then went on to do 1200 miles and 2 trackdays. Still look as good as the day I did them! That was High Temp paint as well :-) http://www.testpilot.co.uk/supra/optim8disc1.jpg
CustomIce
I love the look of neatly painted calipers, not just the usual boring red "looks like brembro" on ma corsa laaaa. Those look really nice with the contrasting vinyl against the black. These were the ones i did on my Celica, Foliatec White and Halfords red, lasted well, but the Foliatect does take a while to harden, but is a really strong colour and finish:

KamaSupra
All these painted brake callipers people are posting up look brilliant, mine were painted silver by the previous owner. But I really want to change the colour and this thread is giving me motivation
