hello ladies, gentlemen ...and nevins

with my supe now too loud and hardcore (for my driving skills and sensibility levels ;) ) to be used as i realistic road car i really want an xk8, i have seen lovely early examples with highish millage for less than 5 grand.

i have loved the look of these since they first come out but im thinking i may look a bit out of place in one , im 23 and when i decide to shave i look pretty child like and i dont want to look like a 17 yr old drug dealer,. but i do love the cars .

what do you think

and any pros and cons you can think of will be taken on board and considerd.

i baught another supra but i just never loved it like i love my blue one and ended up selling it . if i get another supe ill be tempted to start messing with it where as id just leave the jag alone and drive it.

i thaught of the xkr but i dont want power , i have my blue supe to thrash around tracks in , i just want a luxury car thats well priced and looks the mutts nuts

Get the Jag XJ12 that's for sale on here if you just want a comfortable car.

i will ask questions and have a read first , i know alot were recalled for engine swaps and i know ther were problems with the gearbox ecu software . obviosly petrol wil be verry expensive and parts wont be cheap ,

but my word arnt the pretty :)

in all seriousness running costs dont really bother me , not that im rich or have money to burn , but i allways adopt the i could be dead tomoorow attitude so ill dig a bit deaper for fuel if it means i have something i really want. and being in the motor trade i can often get parts at reasonable prices. and the workshop next to me has a huge stack of jag parts from cars they have broken ;)

well just rang a mate that owns a good tuning and performance place in cearphilly , and priced up a load of parts and its not looking too bad. here is what he told me on the parts i asked him for

full recon engine £700

new front dampers £120 pair

new rear dampers £100 pair

front calipers new £65 each

used gearbox in stock £320

individual bushes , about £12 each

exhaust about £100 per box/ section

thats not too bad for a big jag , im sure i could live with that if bits start failing

Doesn't seem all that bad then :)

I'd say go for it. If it's what you want, do it!
