Gaz6002
I did try to find some Top Gear related material from a comic more in keeping with the forum but it soon became clear that Bernard Manning never watched it. I'm sure you did, and were greatly disappointed. That'll be why you had to settle for the dull, lifeless bore you picked instead.
JustGav
Did you watch to the very end where he felt the need to explain the comments about Hammond? I'm guessing not. Nope Because much like other people I have a choice to watch top gear and choice not to watch that

Josh
Me ballax it is. House, Fringe, Monk, CSI, Hustle? I mean the best thing that I'm interested in. I don't spend much time watching TV. Other than Top Gear (BBC and Dave), I don't watch anything. My job as a full time post whore is very time consuming..
RedM
Nope Because much like other people I have a choice to watch top gear and choice not to watch that Then the point you tried to make is completely invalid as you'd have seen had you watched it all. Sheesh.

kill1308
God that guy was boring... I'll still be watching it. Don't understand the hate to be honest, you don't like it, just don't watch it. Everyone has different tastes, I don't feel the need to bash Songs of Praise or tell everyone that I'm not watching it.
Charlotte
I like monk Top gear is 'silly' it always has been and it never does them any harm. I agree with some of the steve coogan article though.

Tannhauser
Then the point you tried to make is completely invalid as you'd have seen had you watched it all. Sheesh. To be fair, he could have made things a bit easier by wearing a hat that lit up every time he made a comedic point. Or perhaps gone the 90s American route of saying 'NOT!', to help with identifying that pesky irony. "He didn't seem to tell one joke", FFS, that's comedy gold in itself. I'm not a great fan of Stewart Lee, but I think he got that one spot on. I won't be watching Top Gear. Shame, I love the cars., but it's not really about them anymore, is it? Andy-No-Knee
If we are going to have political comentery commedians can we have the like of Ben Elton, Harry Enfield and the other bunch of champaine swilling socialists, at least they were funny, (and two faced and ultimatly shown to become and love the things they idalogically hated and ridiculed) unlike the dross currently being peddaled out. I mean good grief, I think I would rather eat my own feet off than have to sit through that bollarks again.

Tannhauser
I tend to sky+ it and then forward through the boring bits, good 10 mins of TV if I am lucky Yes, I've tried that, but...I don't know. Ever since they got caught lying about the Tesla - I know I can't even trust the track tests or commentary. The races and stunts are just situation comedy pieces. So the only point in watching is to look at video footage of cars. Even there, the editing is so ADHD it does my head in. Then there's the thought that I'm watching a program where the presenters mislead about big social issues as well -it sort of makes my skin crawl. If they would cut out all the yukking it up and trying to be outrageous and made it into a motoring program - instead of some sitcom/magazine aimed at Essex Man - I'd watch it again. I'd be happy with a less lame version of Fifth Gear.

Hopefully without Hammond (though he's not quite as bad as the Beards that plagued Fifthgear for so long)

Paul
They referred to all Mexicans as "lazy". I worked with a Mexican contractor in Aerospace some years back, bone idle and full of sh*t. He used to just get up and leave the office for a walk down the road whenever he felt the urge, came back with bags of shopping and this was while he was being paid hourly (large amounts). Took him about 10 times longer to achieve anything that us other guys there. I know one bloke isn't a reflection on a nation but it's my experience and that'll do me
tbourner
Have a look at this too. In my opinion it is probably the critical, self-aware, cover all bases argument against Top Gear I've even seen. [youtubeclip] He's some kind of knob isn't he? It's a bit different to make jokes about mexicans and polititians than it is to make jokes(?) about wishing children would go blind and people would die in pain and agony. I get what he was trying to do (yes I watched all of it) but it's just wrong. Whether or not you think TG is bad taste that pleb just took it too far. No, that's OK cause he's a leftie and wishing kids go blind is justified because of what their dad said, just ask RedM Sooooo difficult to understand all this PC crap !
