I am a very, very lucky man.

I work for Zurich insurance and 8 people were selected across the UK, supposedly 'Top Talent' (so I had to stand in for someone!! No I was really chosen) to compete against 9 other companies for a worthy cause. We called our Team Eau Rouge after the famous Eau Rouge / Raidillon combination corner at Spa circuit.

Long story short, we all had to raise £350,000 for a new RNLI Lifeboat on the Thames so an extremely worthwhile 10 months of fund-raising etc. Anyhow, the team that raised the most money over that period got to do something unbelievable. We raised a staggering £69,000 and £85,000 with Zurich matching and won the challenge. We did all sortes of events including Stocks challenge, 3 Peaks, London ERNLI stations Bike Ride, Skydives etc. I'll let you read for yourself what I won!!! See attached from Ross Brawn himself and Mercedes Petronas GP. ;) :D

Our Team and pic with Ross and linke about event.

PS: This is my FIRST ever Grand Prix so it should be a good one!!!!!! :p

Very well done mate truly a great cause you collected for :salute:

You obviously really deserve it for your hard work

Savour every minute of it and take loads of pics for us. :wooohoo:

Will do and thanks mate.

The Thames believe it or not is actually the busiest RNLI station in the UK so this new E-Class boat will save roughly 20-25 lives per annum which is a good result for all the work each team put in.

E-Class boat? Mercedes now making boats then :D

Congrats, you should be very proud, that is a lot of life's saved. Infact saving just one life per annum is enough, this is something you couldn't put a price on.

Oh & we want pictures of the pit girls! :D

  • 4 months later...

What a time I had in Valencia. Full F1 Paddock, Paddock Club and Pitlane hospitality. Exclusive access and evening meal with Ross Brawn and the Race Day morning with Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg.

See some pics. Going to update my thread with all the videos and pictures.

A truly epic weekend.

Amazing.
