marc_p
When my dads X5 went in for some warranty work, he had an Insignia as a courtesy car and said it was the biggest piece of cr@p he's ever driven, awful to drive, no luxuries and the rear visibility is nigh on non-existent, which is fine if it's a fancy sports car, but for an everyday car is just shocking, oh and all the warning lights started continuously flashing after he'd had it 2 days. I'd go for a Mondeo if it has to be a new car, if it doesn't then the BMW 330D/530D is worth a look.

I had two Vauxhalls in the past and both of them were never out of the dealership with flashing warning lights. I said I would never have another after my Vectra SRi went back. I actually thought they'd improved with the Insignia..!! H.
ellis
Personally, I'd sooner pull myself along the pavement with bloody stumps for fingers than take either. Or the Mondeo. Or take the bus with 'those' people!
Bobbeh
How about an Accord? Not sure what other models we could pick/ask for, as long as the price and C02 levels were similar then yes, it might be an option.

If that is the case then you should consider the Accord, much better refined than the other too, well equipped & along with solid reliability. Though I am sure it does cost more than the other too. RedM
What about the new Passat? I think they are pretty good looking. No idea how they drive or owt though.
Bobbeh
Passats are nice, but costly, I think the Mundane-o etc cost around 20k, I dont think you could pick up a similar spec VW or Honda for that matter at the same cheap rates... but then again I havent really looked into it yet.
