reeceu
to answer the guys wanting to fit recaros that are bottom mounted it can be done in a very similar way. i bought low slung sliding rails and fabricated to identical looking brackets to bolt to. it works a treat and now i have low seated sliding recaros in. IIRC it cost me about 150 quid to do both seats.

nevins
Flat bar is cheap enough to buy and then I recently got 3 metres of the stuff, 2" by 6mm and that cost me less than £40.
JamieP
I can do them for half that £75 per pair, both seats yeah? I will have a set to keep as spare for that money. 1. dude
These are the same as I used for my seats but I welded mine in place, the only difficult part is the 5th bolt mounting on the inside. Corbeau do universal runners but they may take the seat up too high.
nevins
May have meant he can make them for less than that.
JamieP
May have meant he can make them for less than that. You have lost me, i asked him how much he will make them for, he said half price, it dont get much simpler than that.
nevins
Could have just meant he could make them for half that price, in my books that makes sense. Now if he says yes I will make them at that price for the members then that's plain and simple.
JamieP
Lol, well lets see what John says, if all this was just a load of bollox i wont be best pleased. Edited February 27, 2011 by JamieP (see edit history)
dude
He just said he will do them for half price. Even at £150 they are a good price it would take longer than that to cut and weld and drill flat bar into the car. I can't see a fabricator doing one set for £75 but if he were doing say 10 tyhats more feasable as the guilotine etc is already set so you cut each piece very quickly 10 times per piece, you would also make a jig to make it easier to weld together. They look very heavy duty, could they not be made in Ali to keep weight down ??????

I could make em FOC but im not going to;) JP has tried to help out and knowing him he stands to gain nothing, if John can do em cheaper thats great if not he should have kept quiet. nevins
This is not a offer. I have a mate that makes low seat mounts for the s bodies which look pretty much the same and he charges £70 for a pair, so £150 does seem steep to me personally. Not for a one off pair but maybe for 10, there again I doubt Noel is set up for metal Fab like a specialist metalworks with really heavy duty cutting and bending equipment, Ali ones at £150 would be a good price.
