JS2004
What an absolute pain in the rear this is! Got the air con de-gassed yesterday so set about it again this morning. Ive managed to only just get the old matrix and pipes out and attach them up to the new matrix on my dining room table. It should slot in fine and I can try to put it all back together. I had such a hard time removing the bulkhead bolts from the water pipe and air con pipe fixing plates.. having ABS and a charcoal can didnt help things. And those clips holding the water pipe to the matrix pipes were a royal PITA to get off. I ended up having to dremel off the clips and pull them through the bulkhead to undo them whilst inside the car - as I simply couldnt get the tools in place within the engine bay. God knows how you guys did this in a few hours, but im betting its all to do with the right tools Whilst its out I have swapped over my dials for some el-glo ones and about to order the bits for the dash light conversion from maplin. Hope I never have to do one of these ever again though, and if I sell that supe its going to be a major point of interest
James
Yeah, I meant I removed the whole box, as per Jez's thread. Think I mistunderstood the comment ealier! We've got some way to go to beat Graham S's record, IIRC it was about 2 hours!! He's a mechanic though so doesn't really count No no, you read it right, I meant EVERYTHING too Here's how mine looked:- http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs312.snc4/40960_505740762693_339200132_192458_7403056_n.jpg
JS2004
haha your pic scares me Hate, I didnt go that far, seats stayed at least! However I have just put it all back together, I have 2 screws left over.. so its not too bad! But.. I am concerned about a green plug under the steering wheel which is not connected to anything!! Help! Does this need to be plugged in anywhere? It is quite short and linked to another part of the loom so it cant move very far and I cannot see where it could be plugged in.. any ideas? *Edit, I havnt plugged this in as I cant figure out where to put it, but its all back together and appears to work fine.. Glad its over! What a pain in the rear. Got coffee and a well deserved club Edited February 11, 2011 by JS2004 (see edit history)
